It's also not like you just described in the whole state, so stop making things worse than they are.

Stay in your bubble and the rest of us will live life like we want to live it. You don't make that choice for us.

I was at a high school football game unmasked Friday night. In about 30 minutes, I'll be at Sunday School and church. My bubble's pretty large and inclusive.

As far as what I just described not being the whole state, actually it is.

Tennessee's a little better.

Mississippi is in about the same shape as Alabama.

I haven't one time told you how to live your life. If you'll read upthread you'll see I very specifically stated you health care and life choices should be left up to each individual person. I'm living my life pretty much like I did pre-covid but, unlike some people in this thread, I'm not sticking my head in the sand and denying what's happening around me. It's ok to both say I'm going to live my life and Covid is really bad right now at the same time.

Disagree. Family of 4 with 2 young kids who works/lives at a 24/7/365 boarding school with kids from all over the country.

We go where we need to go and always wear a mask when indoors in a public place. Neither myself nor my kids have had a sniffle or sore throat since March of 2020, which is out of the ordinary. Masks work if you’re smart enough to know how to use them.

Right which, was my point. People are involved and most people are stupid. Also the mask doesn’t really work. Glad you think it did in your situation but it was blind luck. Thousands of cases involving masks all over the world.

Neither is the vaccine. The truth is with respiratory viruses there are no guarantees and likely everyone will eventually catch it.

So, my entire life of getting a cold or sore throat at least once a year, but not getting one since wearing a mask is a fluke? Same for my kids who wear it properly cause I taught them how?

If that’s dumb luck, then I need to put $1000 down on a +5000 team to win it this season.

It may have something to do with the fact you haven't left the house in 18 months.

I haven't had a sore throat since this whole thing started either.

I did catch the Wu Flu despite wearing a mask though.

I caught it while wearing a mask and so did my wife.

It’s likely due to the fact you have changed your habits and patterns.

I hate getting back into this thread because I believe people should do what they want to do... vaccine or don't; mask or don't; party with everyone or don't; use a hankie when you sneeze or don't.

I guess I just go by what my doctor tells me. If masks or gloves doesn't work, why do surgeons and doctors and nurses wear them. Why bother to cover you mouth when you cough or sneeze. The doctors have been telling us wrong all these years.

I guess the only thing that bothers me, is that the non-vaccine crowd tends to make fun or bully the people that get the vaccine. I've had people I love die from this disease and it hurts when people belittle their deaths and make threads joking about it.

I like you guys and I like reading your posts on this forum, so I try not to get into things like this.

Like they say - never talk about politics or religion or covid vaccines with your friends. It can sometime get nasty.

I have changed none of my habits and have only worn a mask when specifically asked, and my situation is the same as your's. My oldest daughter caught COVID and my kids have been forced to mask at school from the beginning of the overreaction. Maybe we all caught it, but we didn't get tested because we weren't going anywhere anyway.

Funny how anecdotal evidence doesn't tell us anything at all.

They wear them for blood splatter, not stopping microscopic viruses.

I haven’t seen that on here, just people expressing opinions on the matter. I’ve lost people as well, to the vaccine not to Covid. We will take care of anyone who makes fun of a direct members family or them directly.

They do help with other stuff too, but this is generally spot on.

One of the more maddening things for me is to see people wearing gloves in stores. They're touching everything in the store then themselves.

Fun fact of the day - those gloves transfer contagions better than skin. If you watch closely if the doc or the nurse goes outside a room or changes patients they'll de-glove and put on a fresh pair when they reenter. If I'm driving on a call, when we get ready to leave the scene those gloves get trashed and a fresh pair gets put on when we get to the ER.

Those folks rocking the nitrile gloves in Wal-Mart think they're protecting themselves but it's actually cross contamination city.

This is probably the largest problem right now. People in every restaurant on earth think wearing gloves is helping. If they understand cross contamination they would literally change gloves like 500 times a day. It’s another thing thrown out there, and people mess it up.

None of this is confusing honestly. Of course people should have a choice… but if you’re not vaccinated, don’t run your fat arse to the hospital if you do happen to get covid. You made the choice, so stand on that shite. Stop crowding hospitals

. And if you have a bad reaction to a vaccine?
