I've been retired since 2021. I do nothing and don't start that until 10 AM. Love it!

When should we expect this good news? I’m ready to move on, especially from Marrone.

So, we've moved beyond the days of just firing a guy for doing a bad job?

More amicable to let him leave but sometimes you've got to cut the cord.

FIFY. Nobody has wanted Golding for 4 years. Now BoB and Marrone are ours to keep as well.

I retired from education/coaching back in May after 27.5 years. I finished in December at UA and got hired in January, thus the .5 year. Work part time now at Home Depot to offset the insurance cost no longer picked up by the state.

Did not realize state doesn't pay retirees health insurance now.

Good for you . May do something similar after a little time off . Just depends if I can still pay the bills

Going to be a lot of tennis, golf , PS5 , travel time for a bit though

Reminds me of banks and the real-estate market bust 10 years ago.
At one time, banks couldn't lose. Either a borrower paid off his loan (profit), or defaulted and the bank simply repoed and sold the house for more than they bought it originally for. Again for profit.
Then the home values crashed and banks were left holding properties at an overinflated value and couldn't do anything with them.

They’re both former NFL HCs so I doubt either of them want to be here for too long.

Golding got a lot of shite but Bama’s defenses were not actually bad. Not up to Bama’s standards but not legitimately bad. Bama’s OL this year was actually a below average unit SEC wise. Plus Marrone isn’t a notable recruiter either.

JMO Doug Marrone will NOT be the OL coach for Alabama in 2022. Was Joe Pendry's return to assist all about CV19 and Doug or was the Auburn game performance the last straw.

Marrone was hired on Jan. 19 last year. Flood's hiring at Texas was a few days earlier. Today is the 17th. If Marrone is still the OL coach a week from now, he will be for the 2022 season. I think that if he was going to be replaced, he would be gone by now.

I think we probably have to wait for NFL coach hiring season. He could definitely end up being hired by an NFL team in some capacity (same with BoB).

Very possible the new hire could be around Feb 1st.

Ten Bears tells me Nick isn't sticking with Doug.

There's a lot of top HC candidates making deep runs in the playoffs, and with how little NSD means now with ESD, wouldn't be surprised if any coaching changes don't happen til late February.

There's no pressure to make a hire to convince players to sign when the class is essentially finished.

I agree...if the situation is that they are allowed to come back if they want to.

On the other hand, if it was Saban pushing them out, I think we'd know that already.

I don't see either one of them having a passion to be a college football assistant. Marrone is the primary recruiter for exactly zero of our commits and the secondary recruiter for only the three OL.
