The Falcons really fricked up by keeping Bro Quinn and Dimitroff around as long as they did. Uncle Arthur is one of the small handful of pro sports owners who isn't a complete scumbag, but the downside to it is that because he sees his employees as actual people instead of NPCs in his own custom video game he actually has a really difficult time firing people even when it's obvious to everyone else that it's time for everyone to move on. And the result now is that their cap situation is a disaster and they can't turn over a new page because they didn't accept the rebuild and trade Ryan to a team that just needed a QB when they still could have. Now he's looking close to washed and they're still on the hook for like $80 million the next two years.

The 2021 LSU offense had better QB/WR players than the 2021 Saints.

Can we just laugh that the 2 teams that were the 2 highest scoring and most high flying offenses in the NFC only a few short years ago trotted these players out this season on offense as their best options

QB
- Matt Ryan (the 65 year old version)
- Trevor Siemian

WR
- Marquez Callaway
- Russell Gage
- Deonte Harris
- Olamide Zaccheaus
- Tre'Quan Smith
- Tajae Sharpe
- Lil'Jordan Humphrey

Falcon Julio and the Ghost of Saint Michael Thomas look down and weep

Watching Bro Quinn and Lil Shanny try to Out Falcon eachother in the 4th Quarter on Sunday was pretty hilarious.

The Saints were basically the opposite of those earlier Brees teams that had elite offenses but dumpster fire defenses.

CrimsonBoz - I just want them to take him lol. That’s the only hold up.

And there is the issue, who in their right mind is going to "take him"? We need someone to go after him and not ask or try to answer why.

I could’ve seen it if they hadn’t blown a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl; as a long suffering Falcons fan, one Super Bowl title would’ve been worth all the pain since that game…

I will always maintain that Quinn should have been fired on his way to the locker room after that game. His failure to overrule Shanahan's indefensible playcalling after Julio got them deep into FG range with an 8 point lead was one of the most notable examples of coaching malpractice in NFL history and there was never any coming back from it. They literally could have just taken 3 knees, kicked a 38 yard FG, and iced the game.

JMO but if Nick Saban isn't happy with his OC/OL coaches then he will replace them whether they get hired by another team. Both are owed one year salary if they get the pink slip.

Nick's normal MO is to give assistant coaches ample time to find work BUT there is a timeline he will make the move regardless. The DL coach from Mizzou comes to mind several years back that couldn't get a gig.

This is Nick's last big push up the hill and he's not going to be hindered with Bill and Doug if in Fact he doesn't want them to continue on his staff.

Yep, soon as Julio made that awesome catch, I turned to my son and said, ”Falcons are gonna win the Super Bowl! Three runs and a Matt Bryant FG ices this…not even Tom Brady can come back from this…”

Three downs later as they’re punting and I’m hoarse from screaming at Shanahan, I murmur to my son, ”We just lost the Super Bowl…they’re gonna score, go for two, and win in OT…”

Never been more pissed at a coach…as a worst fan moment, probably at the top of my list; it surpassed Lonnie Smith’s hesitating at second on Pendleton’s double in the 9th inning of game 7 in the ‘91 Series and Punt, Bama, Punt

As a lifelong Falcon and Braves fan you just had to bring it up!

My husband kept saying there is no way the Falcons are going to lose, I kept telling him, you grew up a 49ers fan and have only been a Falcons fan for 25 years, you don't know how badly they can frick this up.
And true to form, that stupid play call and Hightower sacks Ryan and dreams of a Super Bowl win goes up in smoke.

And that Lonnie Smith play, my gosh, wth was he doing? Wasn't there 2 outs? Either way, no way he hesitates there. Once again, dreams of a WS goes up in smoke.

It is very difficult being an Atlanta sports fan, thank goodness I went to Alabama!!

Truer words have never been spoken; I've been a Falcons fan since I was a kid in the late 60's and I've just about seen it all. We were up 28-3 with about 5 minutes or so to go in the 3rd quarter, and I sat there wondering what we were going to do to 'falcon' it up. Talked with several fellow Falcon fans afterwards and most of them said they never felt comfortable with that big lead and kept waiting for the other shoe to drop...

And that Lonnie Smith play, my gosh, wth was he doing?

Soon as Pendleton hit the ball, I just knew the Braves would win the series. The Minnesota left-fielder turned his back on the ball and raced to the wall; he knew he wasn't catching it. Then they show Smith waiting on second and my chest got a sinking feeling...and what followed did not surprise me. That play has haunted me...the next couple of nights, what little sleep I did get, I had the same nightmare and woke up screaming, "RUN, LONNIE, RUN!"

Thank God for the '95 Braves as I've never seen my Dad happier; I was glad he got to witness one Atlanta championship before he died. Wish he'd been around for last year as he would've loved that team...

Bogeypro,

Here's an advice... Quit posting in this thread. Just be quiet and stare at the ceiling counting the little dots minding your business. No one asked you to chime in here and be an arse when it comes to Boz and his sources... Absolutely unnecessary.

Don't ruin this for many of us. Just chill.

Bogeypro,

You need to realize not everyone is like you. If you don't like Boz, that's fine. It doesn't mean you just have to chime in and be an arse for no reason. Don't be like AHM dude.. Just chill out.

It's cool ... I'm sure bogeypro will come back into this thread when O'Brien and Marrone leave and acknowledge CrimsonBoz actually does know folks inside the program. Right?

I'm also hopeful Pruitt returns, but I honestly don't see how that happens in 2022. I would love to be wrong on that. He needs to be back here if for no other reason than slapping Golding repeatedly for the first half of any given season.

it always amazes me at how people confuse the word "rumor" with the word "fact".
for instance, "i heard a rumor today" and "here are the facts" simply are not the same thing, yet people confuse these all the time. lol, even this old sand mountain hillbilly knows the difference, geez
