Look, I'm not advocating violence against women. I have two grandmothers, a mother, a wife and a 14 year old daughter.

But to say a man never, ever has a right to lay hands on a woman is fricking ludicrous.

The days of women being sweet, innocent members of society went out the window a long, long time ago.

Sometimes people deserve to have their asses beat because of their actions. I don't give a frick if they are a man or a woman.

ETA: I'm not taking Burton's side in this situation, either. What he did was incredibly stupid and he should face the consequences for it.

That doesn't mean I should abandon common sense in other situations.

I don’t feel roasted at all. I feel like your crimson colored glasses won’t allow you and some other ilk in here to see that slapping a little 100 pound college chick is never okay. You have a zero to a thousand mentality. Trying to barter your way into your wrong thinking. Go hit a woman at work for calling you something and see how long it takes them to arrest and fire you. You’re being nonsensical and making zero sense. This is a non starter. Burton was wrong. You’re wrong. Period.

You’re the blind one man. Either that or you can’t comprehend what we’re saying.

quote:

slapping a little 100 pound college chick is never okay

Not what you said earlier. You said you should never hit a woman regardless. Saint and myself said bullshite.

quote:

. Go hit a woman at work for calling you something and see how long it takes them to arrest and fire you

Rambling again.

quote:

Burton was wrong.

No shite. We agree again. Saint and I both said this earlier.

I’m done arguing. You have no clue.

I don't care about your feelings.

I never said the Burton situation was okay. In fact, I specifically said it wasn't.

quote:

You have a zero to a thousand mentality.

Again, I live in today's society. I'd go zero to a million if a bitch threatened the lives of my children.

Your inability to separate the two examples is pretty astounding.

quote:

Trying to barter your way into your wrong thinking.

There's no bartering about it. I can think of dozens of examples where it would be absolutely appropriate to get physical with a female based on her actions. That doesn't mean I agree with what Burton did.

quote:

Go hit a woman at work for calling you something and see how long it takes them to arrest and fire you.

Who advocated for that?

quote:

You’re being nonsensical and making zero sense.

So you aren't a parent or a husband.

quote:

Burton was wrong.

Already said he was. Can you actually read?

quote:

You’re wrong. Period.

Nope.

I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to protect myself and the people I love.

Does anyone find this event odd due to several reasons:
- the young lady closed her social media and she’s finished with it. Wants it to go away.
- Saban has stated there is more to the story than what’s reported
- the SEC is not investigating the matter and accepted that Alabama would handle it internally.
I’m not condoning what Burton did at all but I think there’s a bit more to this than she just haphazardly hopped out of the crowd into Burton and he assaulted her.
If that happened, the SEC would be involved and maybe the authorities.

This is the first time I've posted about this situation, and I can't say that I give much of a shite at all about it. Letting thousands of fans(the majority likely being inebriated) rush the field while opposing players, coaches, and refs are still on it is just an absolute recipe for disaster. Its just plain idiotic. The fact that worse things haven't happened yet in these situations is kind of amazing.

My exact sentiment. Allowing the fans to rush the field as such is a recipe for unmitigated disaster. I'm surprised we've not heard of more people injured during this melee.

I’m glad Saban is the kind of leader that doesn’t allow all the noise from idiots, who don’t have all the information about the situation, to affect his judgement.

The number of people on here calling for Burton to be banned is shameful.

Saban did the right thing. There was NOTHING to this entire incident the media is trying to blow up in something its not. The whole thing is a non-issue. The media just sees it as a chance to attack Saban/Alabama.

From the grainy video, about all I could make out of it was Burton taking a swipe at her phone. Looked like he missed both both and head to be honest. Had I seen her hit the ground after said punch/slap, then I’d have been all for helping him pack up his shite and getting out of T’town. Seems Coach had more to go on and that’s what he made his decision on. I’m good. Move on, get well and finish strong!!

First off, I hate this whole incident went down. I'm just wondering what you guys think when Saban said "If you knew the whole story." I mean, what could that be? (Spit on him, Some kind of racial remark). Just wondering!

The thing that Saban said that caught my attention was the players and coaches were scared of what was happening around them. I can definitely see that, thousands of idiots are storming the field and you have Crimson and White on. If there is a high level game like this, bring in extra police. It’s not rocket science. Like others I’m shocked someone or multiple someone’s haven’t been beaten to death. He shouldn’t have taken a swipe but it didn’t look like he actually hit her.

I wonder what tRants opinion would be if the female weighed 225 and was ugly.
My guess is not so much support, tRant only cares because female is petite and attractive.

No opinion one way or the other, but there wouldn’t be 10-15 threads on this incident if the above was the case.

UT is also culpable, because they knew it would happen if they won.

Exactly and not sure why the media is not questioning this. Wes Rucker last week on the radio said UT had already ordered new goal post before the game. They were expecting the fans to rush the field if UT won and tear down the goal post. The university basically endorsed it and the situation was created.

Do I pardon Burton for it nor for his lame excuse? No as he did not have to reach out to swat her phone away but he did and should be held accountable. But I think UT should also and for whatever reason that is being ignored.
