This but those on the outside will make it a national story until UA and Saban can actually do anything.

But UT needs to be held accountable as well. It is their job to keep everyone safe and the NCAA fines them for not keeping the fans off the field. I understand fans get excited but UT not only prevented it they were planning on their fans storming the field if they won the game. Wes Rucker the other day on the radio when asked about the fundraising for the goalposts said UT had already ordered the replacement goalposts prior to the game. Meaning they were going to allow it if they won and they should be held liable as well but the focus will remain on Burton for now.

And yet, there are posters on this thread that are somehow trying to defend him. He is done. If not, Saban and the University will be crucified. If Saban defends this, then his moral compass needs to be called into question.

If he defends this (by your definition, doesn't kick him off the team), then it means he has investigated thoroughly (unlike yourself) and determined there were mitigating circumstances (yes, that's possible). There are rumors about what those circumstances might be, maybe they are baseless. I trust Saban and the University to deal out fitting punishment based on their investigation.

All I know is that if that were a woman in my family who he pushed in the head while she was innocently trying to get out of his way, I'd wanna punch him in the fricking face. What a punk. I really hope Saban doesn't let him on the field for a while.

Speaking of Saban, this is what he should've said:

"I hate to see that kind of behavior from one of our players. That not how we carry ourselves as representatives of this program, and there's no excuse that kind of behavior."

Not, "It's a difficult situation."

You were able to come to all those conclusions from a grainy, jerky video with no sound? What did she do or say before he pushed her? I don't know, neither do you. And yes, while they don't excuse his actions, they may play into the severity of punishment he may receive. I think, based on what I've seen so far, that he should be suspended for about a game, but we don't know everything yet.

TBH if Golding can still rake in millions from UA after a DUI and single handedly ruining Alabama’s defense, this is meh.

I too believe we should get clearer evidence…but if it is as damning as it looks I hope he never puts on a crimson and white jersey again. Shame on the ones here saying that it isn’t a big deal. If he indeed hit her, he is undoubtedly a piece of shite. He is a grown man who can’t control his emotions and shouldn’t be allowed to be an ambassador for our program. She shouldn’t have been on the field, no one except players and coaches should have; but that doesn’t give you the right to strike a slap, hit, or push someone. Especially a lady. Dude four hours to commit violence legally and chooses to wait until after the game to show how hard he is.

I believe Saban said it will be handled internally and that the fans on the field can present a danger to coaches and players. Case closed. Let’s move on.

There’s two videos. The grainy one from far away, and the second from the phone. He very clearly tries to hit her phone out of her hand when you watch the second one

Not a minor issue, but also being overblown. At worst I’m expecting a game suspension

If it's the video I've seen, I think the second video was made while running.. So it's not clear either.. very jumpy. Y'all really need to just chill and trust Saban and the university to handle it.

I’ve watched both videos and it is pretty clear that he did not throw a punch at her in either video.

Maybe he took a swipe at her phone, or just at her for whatever reason, either way it’s not to the level some of y’all are making it out to be.

Y’all remember when you laughed your asses off when that trooper choke slammed that Ole Miss student?

Everyone said the same shite then, dude shouldn’t have been on the field. If you don’t want to get in some shite don’t be on the field.

I’m good with Saban handling it internally.

I'll defend any player in this situation, not just a Bama player.

Fans don't belong on the field while players are on the field.

The fans are at fault. You go where you don't belong, shite happens.

The player should not be punished at all. The fans that stormed the field should be banned from the stadium.

If a fan goes on the field any other time during or before a game, they are tackled by security and banned from the stadium. The same thing should happen in this case.

The SEC bans fans from rushing the field because it's a safety issue.

Doesn't matter if the fan is a man, woman, child or elderly person. The fan is 100% at fault. Fans do not belong on the field while players are on there.

Hopefully, the fan in question has learned their lesson and will follow rules in the future.

Two different things. The trooper has Sabans safety he is responsible for. The only thing Burton is responsible for is to get off the field.

Good thing an unexpected and unwarranted slap from a man wasn't a punch....

I don’t know why you say this sarcastically. The difference between a punch and pushing someone’s face is vast and require different punishment. Hell if he reared back and slapped the taste out of her mouth, I’d want him off the team

Even if they are connected they are 2 separate issues since the girl A)presented no danger to him B) he went out of is way to smack her.

Should be a 3 game suspension with lots on internal anger counseling etc.

While the slap was surprising, what is more surprising is how many trashy piece of shite fans we have in here condoning his behavior. If she had ran into him and he pushed her out of the way then some of your comments would be less offensive and arguably justified. But that's not what happened. He had to reach out laterally to smack her. Some of you are pathetic and need to demand more from these kids representing the university.

You are correct but no player and I do not give a shite what uniform they where does not have the right to touch anyone whether they are a woman or not.

They are at fault for being on the field but not to be assaulted. Anyone thinking that if Burton touched her is in the right are a clueless idiot.

This happened last year at a different school as well. I think it's only a matter of time until you have some blackout drunk fan hit a player or head coach and full blown melee breaks out.

Even absent that, it isn't safe because there are many instances at major venues where fans have been crushed to death in stampedes . Just happened in Indonesia a couple weeks ago, happened at that rap concert last year, etc. It has happened in college football before, like in 1993 when Wisconsin fans stormed the field after beating Michigan and dozens were seriously injured because they got pinned against fences. That was what led to bans on storming the field, but now it's become a weekly occurrence.

Some of you are trying so hard to defend Burton. Yes he may be innocent and the videos are unclear to me what happened in regards to what he actually did to her. But in the end this BS defense of protecting the player is irrelevant while the player is walking back, no one coming at him and in the video I do not see any danger presented to him but yet he went out of his way to be aggressive to a female fan.

It would be different if he was scrambling to avoid the mob but he was not. Now it is time to see if what Saban preaches he practices when he talks about helping these players become men.
