That Tampa team is still going to the playoffs with Baker Mayfield at qb.

And as far as Belichik being a mediocre GM, wonder what the fans in NE think about the state of their team now.

Who was responsible for the Patriots not being stacked though? Probably the head coach right?

I mean they weren't really stacked. They had 3 straight losing seasons prior to Brady. Granted the roster improved the year before and the year Tom came in but a lot of the names they bought in were past their primes.

And as far as the Belichick and the roster that is kind of the point when it comes to him as GM. The reason he has a weak roster is on him. He drafted poorly and is cheap and kind of an arse so free agents didn't really want to come and that was even more so the case when Tom left.

To be fair Baker took Cleveland to the playoffs for the first time in almost 30 years.

Believe me most New England fans believe the roster is bad because of Belichick and even if they wanted Mayo fired want nothing to do with Belichick as a GM, and how he builds his coaching staff with the nepotism and good old boy stuff.

I don't know Rich McKay and don't know Falcons culture but I do have some connections to Blank in other ways. IMO if he really wanted Belichick, no one is talking him out of it.

Brady covered for a lot of his draft frick ups, so as soon as Brady left and they couldn't just patchwork together a skill position group of Gronk + late round picks, ex-special teamers, and cheap cast-offs it became obvious that Belichick the GM can't actually build an offense.

There is a huge debate for some about who is more responsible for the Pats success Brady or Belichick.

I'd sat that their success was more due to Scott Pioli, McDaniels and Brady. Pioli had a great deal to do with building those championship rosters with Mc Daniels and Brady handling most of the offense. Belichick was more responsible for the Patriots defense. During Brady's time in New England, Belichick was not as involved in the offensive side of the planning or calls.

After Pioli left, Belichick handled more of the roster building and it was not good to say the least.

Hang tight. There are still important discussions on running the football and manhood in America to be had before we can get to that.

I knew somebody would get this back on track. There is a good chance but I am not sure how much his wife likes living south of the Mason-Dixon. Think there are some recent pictures of her getting advised by Rita Setliff.

Much love to Rita. I know you are joking, but it’s going to be hilarious if Grubb winds up at WVU.

You will be hated for putting that out into the universe if it comes true.

Was just listening to the NFL Network on XM. They had the Seahawks coach on and were asking about the staff changes. Looks like that he asked Grubb to go more run heavy several times during the season. Especially when their injured tackles returned to the lineup mid season. The goal was to have the QB get hit less. Apparently, he never did it and kept passing the ball. Thats an easy way to get yourself fired.

Patriots always hung around about 12-4 or 13-3 during that 20 year run with Tom. They at LEAST made the AFCCG every other year so their draft position in a vacuum stayed around 28-32 for the first round. Being able to use those later picks for YEARS on defense and linemen instead of breaking the bank on a QB was what kept that franchise afloat.

I don’t think Carolina or NFL fans realize just how tough Bryce had it his junior year with the amount of game tying or go ahead drives and the amount of Superman plays he had to make with NO help. He was built mentally for the NFL, but he did need time just like everyone else.

You did a lot of shitting on Belichick not to mention that he was the guy to get Cleveland there 30 years ago.

I mean it wasn't relevant to the point I was making, that was about Baker Mayfield being a better QB than he is given credit for not anything to do with Belichick. Even with that being said, I never said he was a bad coach, I said he was a mediocre GM especially later in his career, made weird and incestuous coaching decisions, was cheap with players and was an a-hole to a lot of people. The Browns went to the playoffs 4 of the 5 years prior to Belichick taking the job in 1991 and 7 times in the 80s, they weren't the laughing stock they have been for 30 years when he took the job. Not to mention the Browns are really the Ravens kind off.

Poor Ole Marty Schottenheimer.
Winning % in regular season- 62%
Winning % in playoffs- 27%

Only coach with 200 wins NOT in the Hall of Fame.

Anywho... when are they going to announce Grubb's hiring??

1000%

I despise New England fans. All of them. In the entire region.

But I'm very interested to see who the next coach is in Foxborough.
