Looks like Roach will be retained, that’s a key piece for recruiting

DC is still the big question mark.

Just what I’m hearing through the grapevine. I think we’ll have most of the staff filled out today.

The only pitch for a guy like Schumann is that he is only a CO-DC running Kirby’s defense. Being an alumnus doesn’t hurt either. In the end, DeBoer brings his guys from UW, most likely.

If you have an offer for a promotion at one spot, want the promotion, and they give you a time they need an answer by, and a second company won't give you the answer, you have to take the spot.

Kirby presented it to TRob that he needed an answer and couldn't wait because his second choice had an offer on the table. When CKD would offer immediately, he had to take the spot.

If you're in TRobs shoes, wanting a promotion, but having no guarantee or even having an idea of you will be offered by Bama, and having an offer at UGA, how do you not take the spot?

You guys act like Kirby told him to take all the time he needs and didn't put any type of pressure on him.

I have zero info but he ain't bringing his DC from Washington. The offense staff is fine but not defense. He is going to have to hire some SEC coaches on the defensive side of the ball.

Have you considered that Schumann doesn't want to come to Bama?

It appears he is very happy being Kirby's yard boy.

I read a post from someone in the know that he is going to hire some coaches who have SEC recruiting experience. That would lead me to believe that a few current coaches get the call.

Boz, you might be connected, but thinking TRob is coming back lacks any sort of common sense one should possess.

We should make a serious run at Minter and Schumann

But I would bet he brings his guy from UW.

People need to accept the fact that DeBoer is going to hire who he thinks is best and just get the frick over it. All the "we need to keep TRob" or "we need to get Schuman" or "we need to make a serious run" at whoever the frick is mindless stupidity. What needs to happen is for Greg Byrne to make sure there's enough money so DeBoer can get whoever he wants.

Some of you guys are never gonna get it. It's retarded. There is no fricking "we" in this process.

Screw that, if he wants Pete Golding I am personally inserting myself into the coaching staff hires.

And dude this is the other end of overreaction scale to the world is falling down cause he didn't retain TRob.

But ! I thought it was illegal to talk about TRob ? And I thought an angry mob would form and come burn your house down if anyone suggested trying to retain him ?

Can we discuss that option or is it dangerous ? What is with the sensitivity here with him ? lol I've been around a long time, and never seen posters melt over the mention of a position coach.
that's some passive aggressive bitch talk right there

No, YOU need to accept that this is a discussion board, and people are here to share different opinions and views.

If you can't understand why people have different opinions than yours, and enjoy discussing those opinions on a message board then please, see yourself out, and dont come back.

Oh great, another internet tough guy saying things he wouldn't say in person from behind his keyboard.

I say what I mean, and mean what I say.

You got any questions, Nard-Dog is it ?

I was happy to see that Grubb also has been OL coach. No doubt as OC he'll be intimately involved there. I expect to see improvement on the OL.

Rees

Any mention of options for Rees going forward?

He gets 4.1 million in a buyout, but I haven't heard if he had been mentioned as a hire elsewhere.

It would be interesting to see if some of the buyout coaches who don't land jobs are asked and humble enough to move to analyst positions to help with retention and a bit of continuity of relationships.
