He won’t be here long unfortunately

Isn’t that the hope? That we are very successful and people want to keep hiring our assistants?

So weird to see social media posted by assistant coaches . .

Oh shite, that's true. I was thinking while reading Grubb's announcement how it would be interesting to hear him speak in his one and only press conference. I guess our world is changing in a lot of ways.

I have a feeling Trob will be the DC.

Secondary will good and I really want Muhammad to come as well.

I said this in my other thread you have a coach who almost won a natty and a team that just full short. This is a recipe for a run.

Yeah, I want Muhammad but not if it means we have more young guys bouncing.

That is good to hear though that there is an option for T-Rob staying. At best if CKD can talk to him and give him the option. If T-Rob wants to stick with Kirby, that sucks but we have to move forward and need to really find a DC and CB coach who can recruit the South and Texas well.

Your right though and I'm beginning to see it. Who knows? If CKD can win one with this loaded team next year that could be the thing that gets recruiting rolling for him (combined with a little Saban touch).

This is exciting. Especially what we will do offensively. I can't wait.

Boz, you might be connected, but thinking TRob is coming back lacks any sort of common sense one should possess.

We should make a serious run at Minter and Schumann

But I would bet he brings his guy from UW.

Didn't he commit to Oregon?

I don't see how keeping a guy we already had doesn't make sense but it's easy to pull Schumann away?

If it were that simple Schumann would have already been here

Has nothing to do with connections it’s just common sense. TROB is still in Tuscaloosa. Go have dinner, talk it out and maybe there is some chance there.

I would like a shot at a few DC’s. Minter being one.

I’d like him but we seem set at the position. Competition would be nice but kids don’t do that anymore. They don’t start and they leave.

So you think our new coaches first move would be to sit down and beg TRob to come back after he publicly took another job when KD wouldn’t give him a guarantee on night 1?

Y’all crack me up

Why would it be begging to talk to a coach? You are the one being ridiculous. Now personally I do not think TRob is leaving UGA, but absolutes are generally poor bets.

Pulling Schumann away from Kirby would be hard to do. Those two are really tight friends.

The guy publicly took another job at one of our biggest rivals because our new coach wouldn’t give him a guarantee within a few hours of landing in the damn state.

You don’t re-approach that guy for a job, much less a promotion. That’s just common sense in any job, much less one’s making millions of dollars with some of the biggest egos possible.

I’d love to be wrong, but I just don’t see it.

If Deborer has coaches who are loyal to him for long periods of time then it might lead to stability at the OC and DC spots unless they get a HC gig

Perhaps DeBear since being allowed to land and shite, shower, and shave has had a chance to now reach out to him. He said he wanted to retain someone with ties to the south, to aid in recruiting. Well it doesn't get any better than TRob for that.

TRob was offered the Co DC at uga

Perhaps DeBear calls and offers DC

Then it would make perfect sense. TRob would be leveraging himself up the ladder same as Jimmy Sextons clients.

But ! I thought it was illegal to talk about TRob ? And I thought an angry mob would form and come burn your house down if anyone suggested trying to retain him ?

Can we discuss that option or is it dangerous ? What is with the sensitivity here with him ? lol I've been around a long time, and never seen posters melt over the mention of a position coach.

It shouldn't be if Bama is offering top dollar for a DC.

It's his alma mater, and he wouldn't have to share a title with the guy who name will not be mentioned.

Kirby cant have it both ways if Bama wants to make a move, and personally I think Bama needs to remind Kirby who is Bama and who is Georgia.

We've been kicking the shite outta them since the beginning of time. They are not taking over. Bama is the Alpha. We've beat them something like 9 out of last ten games we've played them.

Optics matter, and Kirby is getting a little to used to raiding our staff. CNS wouldn't retaliate because he had too much class.

I would love for us to poach Schumann but the safe option for him would be to stay with Kirby for a few more years, then take a HC job.

Jumping here would be a career gamble, a lot of unknowns now that Saban is gone. He would be my first call, but a long shot IMO

Brother it’s not begging it talking.

I’m frankly ok with running CO DC and taking Washington’s guys to do it. Guess what, that staff is freaking good and it’s his people.
