Exactly. The media has demonized Alabama football and thus the public wants to see us suffer. Yesterday was a victory for the haters. It’s unfortunate because SMU is likely to get beaten by Penn State handily. Texas will also likely beat Clemson. College football is a mockery now. Sure, Alabama lost to two unranked teams. But we also beat three top 25 teams and blew out LSU in their stadium. SMU played absolutely no one until Saturday night.

No... neither. Neither does SMU or Clemson. But I am not talking about other teams. I am talking about our team and the crappy way we played. We did not earn our seat at the table. And I do not want to be embarrassed in the playoffs

They're still celebrating. Even fans of teams in the playoffs are still just as excited Bama is out. For example saw some Boise St fans, a team Bama has never played recently and a team that finally made the playoffs, talking more about Bama being out than Boise being in. Saw a ND fan on reddit with zero posts about ND and all about Bama being kicked out
Saban broke their minds to the point where even fans of non-SEC teams act if Bama is a rival. Hell I remember seeing quite a few (not saying most) OSU fans last year cheering 'against' Bama over Michigan

He tries too hard to not be a Bama homer and ends up pissing off a lot of Bama people because he sounds like a dbag. He just needs to stop worrying about what other people think and quit trying so hard not to come across like someone who played at Alabama.

Greg doesn't need to be a homer, but his commentary Saturday night was totally biased towards smu. After the game, for a split second it sounded like he was going to offer up the very valid SOS argument, but then Scott Hamilton acted like he would slap him so he went back to gushing over smu...a team without a single top 25 win. Pretty laughable.
But like I've said...12 of 13 ESPN "journalists" put smu in their pre announcement projections...and all but 1 now predicts that awesome, so deserving team to lose in the first round.
It's a joke.

It's supposed to be the twelve best teams. It's not about "earning" or "deserving". I think you're missing it.
Also, you don't know Alabama would be embarrassed. They weren't embarrassed against Georgia; a squad Texas played twice and couldn't beat..
I think if Bama shows up, they can play with or beat anybody. I think the playoff committee caved to the media and put in the tomato can otherwise known as SMU.

Are you sure?? Because the committee clearly bumped a lower ranked team above us in Clemson. I don't think the criteria is the 12 best teams

If SMU had a couple of wins over top 20 teams he would have a valid argument. I hope Penn St embarrasses SMU and proves to the world that the people on the committee are idiots.

I appreciated what G-Mac had to say yesterday morning on their radio program.
It's hard not to be excited for the possibilities of the program right now. Sure, every fan is disappointed with Bama being left out. But the as Pastor Mike stated, there were hiccup's this season. If Bama were put in, they would have been rewarded for this. This is the last thing you want long-term.Those issues, such as underestimating another SEC opponent would have been swept under the rug.
Plus, now the coaching staff will have a chance to do things they weren't able since the start of 2024... really recruit. Transfer portal openings last year was at inopportune times, mostly due to Washington, Michigan and Arizona opening - after many of our skill players had left. Position groups have been thin... this will get corrected.
Finish the season - finish it strong. The Tide will be back.

He has been that way forever. I haven't been able to listen to his show for years because he will die on every hill and insist that anyone else is an idiot for questioning his logic. The shame and irony of it all is I really disliked Cole Cubelic at the very beginning, but he grew on me immensely and ultimately I really developed a lot of respect for his analytics on teams strengths and weaknesses. I felt like he was generally spot on.

McElroy was born on third and thinks he hit a triple.

If you are on here defending McElroy you are either 1) A fan of another team 2) Greg McElroy's mom or 3) Greg McElroy.
Greg McElroy is an idiot. He honestly is jealous of any Alabama glory that isn't 2009. He is a putz and they should really consider getting an Alabama guy to do the radio show with Cubelic. Then I may would listen.

They have to get the committee out and the BCS system in. That is the only way the best teams will be in and seeded right.
