Forget the staff raiding etc. How many want Sark to genuinely succeed?

I’ll always consider Sark part of the Bama family. Idk about you guys but I think he’s probably the best OC Bama has had at any point in time in its history and it’s really not close. God bless Homer he had bread crumbs and tartar sauce to work with but damn dude.

The only team that looked like they legitimately stopped us for an extended period of time all year was Arkansas, and they got blown out the building by 7 TDs. And don’t bring up ND that game could’ve been 100-14 if Nick and co. didn’t shut things down at halftime. My point is, yeah, he’s part of that putrid cult over in Texas. But I’ve watched interviews about what he says (that’s not coach speak mind you) and he seems very decisive on what he wants to do, how he wants to execute it, and doesn’t back down from it either.

If I’m a Texas fan that follows recruiting big time and have seen how a championship staff looks like compared to say a Herman or Clay Helton staff, I’m out of my mind excited despite his past record because it’s following what I’ve observed to win games and seasons in the long haul. Damn him for raiding the staff like he has for sure. But if it ends up meaning he puts Texas back on the map and makes CFB more competitive again, I’m all for it man. Would love to see Texas beat up on a Clemson or Notre Dame for once.

I'm indifferent, don't really get upset at raiding staffs because that's just football. Never really been a big Texas fan either, Sark doesn't really move the needle off that.

Now Charles Huff, I hope he dominates at Marshall. To be fair though, I have been a fairweather Marshall fan for about a decade...

I hope Sark at Texas never does better than 11-2, never does worse than 9-4, that he beats Oklahoma every other year and that the boosters don't cost him his sobriety. I have little belief this will happen. I also believe as a fan they should be excited about recruiting staff but also fear their capabilities.

I’d love to see Sark be successful for his own sake. I don’t give a damn about Texas, but I’m more inclined to pull for him than I was for Pruitt at UT. Everybody hypes Lane, but I think Sark was a better coordinator for Alabama. Not to knock Lane either... he’s the one that put our offense on it’s current trajectory. The offenses looked more balanced under Sark though and some of his play designs were otherworldly. Obviously it’s great to see him overcome some of the issues that plagued him early in his HC career, but he’s one of my favorite assistants under Saban. A class act and a great coach.

Lane Kiffin was pretty good. It's definitely close. Sark had a great game plan against OSU. But he had better QBs to work with than Lane. This year's team was so talented at all the important positions. "They can get anything they want, any time they want it" was heard a lot this year.

I like Sark but I kinda want him to fail because one of my friends is a Texas/Alabama fan (he lived in Texas for like three minutes of his life but his dad's a huge Texas fan, so...). I love to give that friend of mine shite for his constant pimping of Texas, especially considering the fact he graduated from Alabama to boot.

Lane was really streaky to me. When he was on fire, he was probably the best coordinator in the world regardless of what side of the ball. 2015 Clemson game was a masterpiece as well as the 2nd half of the Auburn game in 2014. But man he had his moments where he went full retard.

You have TJ Yeldon, Derrick Henry, Bo Scarborough and Kenyan Drake all on one roster and you’re gonna let a converted WR try and win you a shootout against Ohio State?

Sorry, can't forget the staff raiding... and the attempts at flipping recruits. ... If he had left like a class act, ok..but no... I would have fully expected that Flood would had gone with Sark...but to keep offering others (and know many wished that Saban would have let PG go...) and really disrupting Bama's roll.. Well hope they win no more than 1 a year... or if they do win, hope that every year one of his coaches leaves and takes many of the others with them... (No worries, Sark will be ok, with having his coaches leave)

To be fair to Lane he wanted to ride Henry from the moment he became OC but that wasn't the plan.

I’d like Sark to succeed, but that means Texas being successful. That’s a sleeping giant. So, I’d like the boosters to meddle enough to cost Texas a couple of losses a year.

He also did this while being the head coach for another school.

I’m happy for Sark but frick Texas. They created their own problems and have perpetuated them. If he succeeds, it will only feed their ego as God’s gift to football and if he fails, I fear for his health.

I won't hate it if he succeeds, it will be good for college football to have someone challenge Oklahoma and have the Big 12 be somewhat respectable.

But I won't really care if he doesn't.

He is talking about the 2014 Sugar Bowl. I don't know who called that game, Lane was with the team on Jan 2nd but wasn't official hired until Jan 10th.

2 or 3 years doesn’t buy that kind of loyalty.

He is easily the best OC Bama has had.

I hope he fails. I don’t want anyone taking away what Saban has built. Plus it’s Texas.
