Vastly improve to beat out who? Ty Simpson who he just beat out?

Ty Simpson is the one who has to vastly improve to win the QB job, he barely completed 50% of his passes this season.

Pretty sure the coaches saw both QBs attempt more than 20 passes in practice and went with Milroe as the starter. You’re opinion is rooted in trolling just like when you said DeBoer was gonna turn us down and stay at Washington.

I won’t argue that Milroe doesn’t need to improve. He definitely does. But where is the confidence in Simpson as a quick processor & great reader of defenses? It seems like if that were true he’d have won the job last offseason. The arm talent is there.

You also would’ve thought that with Tua-Jalen but it took until the last thirty minutes of the season to do something.

I just find it hard to believe that Simpson, a coaches son, who makes those line adjustments and reads on tape is going to come out and struggle with them or hold the ball longer than Milroe. If that’s true, then our QB’s have never coached a second outside of games

I also don’t doubt Lonergan pushes Milroe this offseason either based on the spring game last year and practice reports.

Milroe doesn’t have the benefit of Saban being carefree of criticism and time to learn. DeBoer will need to win and keep winning off the bat. That’s why I have heavy doubts we trot Milroe out again with a whole offseason of tape for teams to prep with.

They say we cant judge that he was bad in completing 11 out of 20 passes but they can tell that he was great, and that Milroe is gonna have to improve a lot to beat him out for the starting job again!

The assumption of so many on this board that Ty Simpson is actually better than Milroe but the coaches just didn’t like him is comical.

Did I ever say anything to resemble what you are assuming? Some of you need to read before posting. I clearly quoted to what I was posting/ asking about. He said Milroe was the first given specific examples. I responded with a specific example and asked for clarification.

In the end just because not everyone on this board does not believe Milroe can carry this team or will even be the starter next year please do not come to defend him when I was not speaking negative about Milroe.

Yesterday we had a fan say Simpson is a better passer than Penix

I could care less about Simpson so I am no fanboy whatsoever. Just not impressed whatsoever with Milroe. Way too many deficiencies to be a starting QB at what is supposed to be a top tier program if it wants to win a NC which we did not this year with him starting. Do not need to believe as I saw it on the field this year and in the playoffs. Sorry to disappoint a Milroe fanboy like yourself.

First Bama QB to have 3 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs in a game. Did it twice, the second time he had 3 and 3 against Kentucky.

Are you really trying to convince people that Milroe is great based on what he did against Middle TN and Kentucky?

As delusional as the Milroe fanboys that think he will win the Heisman next year and base his greatness off what he did against MTSU.

At least we know Milroe has the potential for growth bc we saw it over the course of the season. All we know about Simpson is that the coaches started Tyler Buchner over him.

Milroe beat UGA in the SECCG and dumbasses on here act like he’s a scrub. He was MVP of the SEC title game. He improved a ton throughout the year. This idea Bama can’t win with him is dumb as shite.

Milroe couldn't learn Bama's playbook after years of studying how could he possibly learn DeBears which is far more complex in one off season ?
I don't think deboers offense is particularly complicated, just really hard to defend.

Yes,

However I'm basing this on athletic ability solely.

Think about how well he was playing late in the year.

Again, if you are going to respond to my post read it first. I have yet to say anything in regard to Simpson, his potential to be the next starter, or him being better than Milroe.

In regard to Milroe the same things that plagued him week one was still there in the playoffs. Nothing has changed.

I see people wanting to be put in the best situation to win a NC. Something even under the coaching of Saban Milroe was not capable of leading this team to.

Yes we could win 9 or 10 games possibly next year with him but doubt he could win a NC with him at QB. And yes he still may be the starter.
