"Maybe Alabama won't take the field!"

It's hard to go against 1992 because that's really the only one in my life where we were huge underdogs and Miami beat us in 1989 (Jan 1990) in what was basically the NCG at the Sugar Bowl. 1989 was a fun and bittersweet year as a 8 year old Bama fan. We started off 10 and 0 and after big wins against Tennessee and Penn State, both of which came down to FGs or misses, then we went to Auburn for the first time and got throttled. That was heartbreaking and the only time I cried over a football game. Then we played Miami and got handled most of the game.

So for me 1992 was extra special.

But beating LSU like that when they thought they were such hot shite was hilarious. If Bama had prepared more for the option, they'd have easily won that 9-6 game, they just weren't prepared for that, just like UGA wasn't ready for Hurts in 2018.

Last year was special too, dismantling LSU and Auburn in pure and dominant fashion.

1/9

It was a masterpiece.

There should be 2 "1/9"'s.
If only the ref could call an illegal pick play, or our defense could muster one stop.

I get that. I was 9 at the time of the 92 championship but I still remember family and friends of the family going crazy over Teague stripping the ball. I saw that live and did not realize how big of a deal it was at the time. I mean present day I understand that it got brought back but I also understand that it was demoralizing.

Edit: As for 9-6, I was watching that on my cell while working. Honestly felt like a bunch of weird shite happened there. Didn't one of our kicks hit the camera line?

Tua to Smith was just so epic, that its hard not to say that one, but honestly they've all been special in their own right.

I was not old enough to remember it, but the '93 Sugar Bowl will always hold a special place in my heart because the VHS tape we had of the game got me through some very dark times as a fan.

I was home on leave just back from Somalia and I was at the 93 sugar bowl so that one is special but that game last year...I think eventually that team should be mentioned among the best ever.

This is mine as well. And, with all due respect to Jalen, if Alabama has Coker in 2016, they beat Clemson again..... Probably by a couple scores.

As much as ‘92 and ‘12 are my favorites, there is no singular, thunderclap moment like 2nd and 26. This thread just chased me down a YouTube rabbit hole watching fan reaction videos from that game. I am embarrassed to admit that as a (then) 54 year old man I was running around the living room with my buddy shrieking like 12 year old girls who just got a pony for Christmas.

No, Marine. I came home on emergency leave when my dad died and went back over after my leave was up. The Army came in after the Marines left.

I don't think there is a play I've been more excited about. Considering what happened the following week, that play saved the season.

Knocking them out of the playoffs the next year with not only a pick play, but a pick play to a DT, gave me a lot of closure in regards to that situation.

Hmmm........favorite National Title? If I were a Georgia, Auburn or Texas fan this would be easy. But, being a Bama fan not so much.

My Senior Drill Instructor actually referenced the 1992 game. He was telling us a story one time about when he was in boot camp and was allowed a 2 minute call for getting expert on the rifle range. He found out the results of that game during the call. He was a gator fan...but a bad arse.
