Cole Cubelic said yesterday on wjox that he has heard that Q Williams has told people inside the Ala athletic complex that he wants to come back next year. CC said its possible that Williams could be drafted as high as the number one person taken in the NFL draft, so it would be insane for him to come back. Regardless, its good to hear that that some of our guys dont really want to leave early. Money probably wins out in this case, though.

Also, the Bham news had a little article Sunday about Tua. Several NFL people said they think Tua would be the number one person taken in the draft this year if he were eligible.

He needs to go.

I don't want him to get hurt.

I'll be selfish, I don't want him to go... our D-line will be very inexperienced

I mean, selfishly, sure I'd want him back but this is the right answer.

Team loyalty is wonderful but regular student goes to college to get a good, high paying job. There aren't many better high paying jobs than top 10 NFL draft pick. If you're in that spot, you've GOT to take it.

He can take out one of those insurance policies for injuries if he does decide to come back.

Just because he wants to doesn't mean he should or will. College is fun and he probably wants to stay with his friends on the team. Ultimately though you can't turn down 1st round draft pick money. An injury or a bad season could cost him millions of dollars. It's just not worth it.

Williams needs to go. If you're going to be a first round pick, much less a top ten pick, you've got to go do it. Right now he might very well feel like he wants to come back as he's in the middle of a great run with his teammates, but once the season winds down and he is able to fully evaluate his future I'm sure he'll go to the draft.

Him being drafted in the Top 5 is good for himself and for our recruiting moving forward.

Those are for catastrophic injuries though. Like a broken neck that requires a fusion surgery or something and prevents you from ever being able to play again. It wouldn't pay out over something like what happened to Jaylon Smith that dropped him from top 5 pick to 2nd rounder and cost him $15M.

Don't most players say the same thing this time of year?
He'd be foolish not to leave, if he will be drafted top 5 or so.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Q needs to go get paid.

He's having an amazing season and I would feel horrible if he came back only to have a subpar season or get injured.

I do think Raekwon should come back and work on his game a little more.

Never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul.

Q, if you value your friendships and your time in Tuscaloosa, come back if you want. Money isn’t everything. MONEY ISNT EVERYTHING.

Some people will tell you to grab the money. But I say, be careful how much emphasis you put on “the money”. A lot of people give up everything for it.

Q has to go.

It would be great to have him torment our opponents for another year but there is too much risk involved.

So your saying he has to go. He has to go because of the money. I understand. That’s your opinion.

But not everyone thinks the way you do.

And you also have no manners

If he is predicted to go 1st round, especially in the top 10 or 5, he needs to go. It is selfish for fans to want him to come back, & I would love to have him for another year or two, but there is too much chance of him getting hurt.

If you had the opportunity to earn millions of dollars, not just for you, but for your family and future kids, you would want to take that opportunity, too.

He can always come back and finish his education like some of our top past players are doing.

Bama fans need to wish him luck and tell him how much we've loved watching him and appreciate him for coming to Bama.

I think it’s his decision to make, not mine. I have no problem with him going. But I think to say that staying is irrational and stupid and that he must go isn’t right. People value different things. People live differently.

Not correct. You can literally insure any scenario. The cost of said insurance just changes.

Just checking: Who said it was "irrational and stupid" for him to stay?

I'd love to have him stay at least one more year, and if he does, I'll be really glad as a fan.

If he's likely to be drafted in the first round -- especially very highly in the first round -- it makes much more sense for him to go pro if playing football for a living is his goal.
