How about proof first.
Well, if compliance staff is pulling players and staff out of your meetings on Friday night, you either know what's going on, or you're too stupid to be a head football coach in the SEC.

There are many examples of Coordinators being shitty HCs. I think Pruitt is one of these examples.

He was foolish to take the Tennessee job. It is a dysfunctional clusterfrick there.

Could it be that Fulmer is trying to undermine Pruitt and did this during the meetings to make the players question Pruitt? Easier to get rid of someone after a loss.
Also how many times have we seen an assistant coach do something like pay players that the coach wasn't aware of? It happened in Bama's basketball.

Pruitt might become unavailable, unhirable. But I sure hope not. Bring him back home as DC/ILBs coach -- long term deal. He's dang good at it and continuity would be great to have.

Pruitt wasn't ready, but Phil wanted to spit in Bama eye so he hires a guy that wasn't ready to be a HC at a major school.
Pruitt is a helluva coach, and I'd love to have him back on staff. These Bama assistant coaches cant say no to the money everyone offers, but long term some of them will see it's not best for their career trajectory.

pruitt is the best in my opinion, far better than muschamp. unless there is clear cut proof jp knew about the wrongdoing, bring him back, if he becomes available.

Yep, when he took that job he had 5 years of college experience as coordinator. That's not a lot period, but worse for him those jobs had been a 3 schools that were established programs with a recent history of high level success.
Nothing in his background as a high level assistant prepared him for the task of rebuilding a program - much less one who's administration and fanbase have expectations of Bama/UGA/FSU (under Bowden and Jimbo) level success. That's not a roadmap to success.

Following up, just heard Basiliio say that compliance staff showed up unannounced and demanded access to Pruitt's computer and told him to leave the room.

Why is everyone assuming Saban is going to get rid of Golding? It seems much more likely that Golding will be DC next year regardless of who’s available

To be fair when assistants tend to underperform they seem to find other jobs

Look up his past defenses and post them. That should give us all the information we need. I don’t think he has faired well with these new age offenses.

I believe the thinking was that they would bring in Fulmer to handle all that while Pruitt just focused on the product on the field. Of course, Fulmer is a snake so we all knew how that would end.

Because he hasn't been a defensive coordinator since 2009. His body of work against any modern offense isn't slim, it doesn't exist at all.
Heck, you'd be better off grabbing up Steele if AU doesn't give him the HC job.

Well, if that's the criteria, we never would have put Lupoi or Golding in that position.

Yeah I don’t think Golding is going anywhere

Well, in case PG does go: just throwing some names out there for fun. Not saying all or either of them are available or good hires!
> Rehabilitation types (NFL):
Gregg Williams
Matt Patricia (=Bill Belichick type, remember so was Daboll and he did okay)
> Hot College types:
Jim Leonard (Wisconsin)
Clarke Lea (Notre Dame)
Marcus Freeman (Cincinnati)
> Sturdy veteran types:
Todd Grantham (Florida Gators)
Barry Odom (Arkansas)
> Head coaches that were DCs types:
Jeremy Pruitt (Tennessee)
Jimmy Lake (Washington)
Mell Tucker (Michigan State)
Will Musschamp (former South Carolina)
Anyone else who's better or more available?

Clark Lea was announced as the new Vanderbilt head coach today.

If Pruitt is fired, expect him to land at Alabama within few days and help with preparation for Playoff. :)

Report: Dan Quinn seeking interviews for college football jobs LINK
No clue on fit but he worked for Saban one year at Miami. Seems like he is versatile with his schemes
