How many people you think will skip the bowl game since we aren't going to make the playoffs?
Posted on 11/16/19 at 6:27 pm to Bamafan24
Nothing has been determined yet but who knows.

I think with what happened with Tua today will play a huge roll in it

Ok, I misread. I thought you were asking how many people here thinks Bama will skip the bowl game.

Some people are just dumbasses. The notion that suddenly this evening we have no shot at the playoffs is utter stupidity.

Im just being realistic. I would love to make the playoffs and have a chance at another natty but we are in a bad situation and im sure the eye test we were getting for a weak schedule will diminish with losing Tua.

No. He's assuming we have no fricking chance to make the playoffs.

First of all , it is not concrete that we will not make the playoffs . Secondly, why all the negativity ? We have had enough of that today already . If some decide that approach , we will cross that bridge when we get to it

No, you're being like someone who hasn't watched much football. We go into Auburn and kick their asses, with a backup QB when Oregon couldn't beat them on a neutral site, there's your damn eye test.

It depends on how we play moving forward. If we beat Auburn by two scores and don’t look totally fricked up we could be ok.

I really wanted another Tua-Burrow matchup

I think had we been ranked ahead of UGA I would feel better about our chances. The problem now is auburn lost and will drop and if we beat them they might be our only quality win ranked in the 20's. Oregon is going to get a pac 12 champsion game against most likely #7 or even Utah beating oregon because our resumes were really close.

I agree. Just deflating to see them getting hurt like that

I hate injuries, too.
But if they play not to get hurt, that's just what's going to happen.
Keep fighting and let's see where that gets Bama.
Mac Jones isn't terrible.
He's better than bo nix.
So, we still have the better quarterback in our remaining games

Ok, I'll put aside my empathy for one of the coolest kids to ever put on the Bama jersey and play along for a moment.
Playoffs: Our chances of getting in were fairly slim before today. Some things have gone right but a lot more has to happen for that door to open. So let's suppose it does and that possibility comes around. You don't think the committee doesn't look at Alabama now without a QB that broke every freaking record we ever had at the position and quite a few national ones and goes "Well, if Tua were still playing, they'd be strongly considered, but with his injury, Alabama just doesn't have the wins and the resume' to get in."? It's been stated countless times that they do take injuries into account.
I suppose this argument might not hold if Mac and/or Lia goes out there and balls out and looks like a million bucks against both Western Carolina AND Auburn, but even then, we'd need utter chaos for them to consider a Tua-Less Tide. I hope like hell it does happen, but I'm also realistic enough to know we are looking at the same chance now as winning the Powerball lottery. It's just not gonna happen.
I haven't given up supporting my team, I'm hurting for kids who saw their season goals take a huge hit today, right after a gut punch last week, and a couple that had injuries that could affect their future. Sorry if I take a moment to grieve for those kids before screaming next man up! This ain't a sprained ankle.

I just pray for no more injuries...at least no more serious injuries. But, I do think the staff especially needs a reboot. There needs to be some rest, reflection, and change for the staff.

Now I can go along with that . Well said. I am just deflated right now for Tua and the team. You know it takes an emotional toll on these kids as well

Our defense is average or a little above average. Our offense without Tua is average. There isn't any shame in that. It's just the truth.
Tua can compete with Burrow and Fields led offenses. Mac can't unless he gets help from Non offensive touchdowns. Unfortunately, we aren't stacking those up this season like we have in the past. That's all just my opinion
