This isn’t about who’s better. It’s more about who’s the best fit for each offense.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Devonta is gonna set the world on fire in Philly - at least not with Jalen Hurts. He’s more dependent on a solid QB than Waddle is.

Maybe the new Philly HC will out Smitty in motion a shite ton and get Hurts to roll out.

You'd think Tua would have at least been asked his thoughts on each.
Do you not think (for one second) that Tua wasn't involved/questioned about the this draft pick?...man, please.

I would have taken Devonte first because Devonte is the better player. Devonte is the best receiver Bama has ever had.

I disagree. I think Devonta's route running, sense to come back to the ball to bail out his QB, and his knowledge of what a defense will do is best suited for Hurts. Hurts desperately needed someone like Devonta. He will not be able to cash in on Waddles explosiveness like Tua will.

From the QB perspective, I think this is a really good fit for both and i think they are good fits for the teams as well. I don't think that Smith will have great numbers with Hurts like he would have had with Tua though.

That said, teams will do some crazy stuff when there’s a guy with elite speed available.

If Waddle doesn’t get hurt - Smitty doesn’t win the Heisman and this whole thread is pointless.

Heck, it would probably be Waddle or Mac winning and the whole thought process in the draft is changed.

Maybe it happened in a different universe.

Maybe I’m responding to a thread in that universe as well.

Hope Auburn sucks there too.
