I really don’t think he would leave Clemson either. He’s the unquestioned GOAT there.

I’m torn because I’m fairly certain he’s the best coach in football right now, but I also can’t stand him and his Aww Shucks, praise Jesus routine.

See, that's the thing...nether of you guys can point to a single football-related reason why you wouldn't want him. It's all personality with you guys.

The guy is about to win his third national championship in four years.

But he's not good enough for Pvilleguru and you.

Exactly and it’s not like he’s some horrible scum bag either. His personality is just a little irritating.

And no one in the ACC is currently close to competing with Clemson

I don’t think any of the “dynasties” since the early days of CFB had it this good. Another thing is the playoffs that help them. They wouldn’t have made it in under the old BCS. They can play their shite schedule, go undefeated but fall to 3 or 4, but still make it in.

He's not leaving Clemson anyway. Dabo likes being the big fish in a small pond. He likes to play his team up as the underdog/no respect and all that garbage.....that wont play at Bama

I think I've made it clear that his coaching ability has no bearing on my decision.

No he’s not. He’s not covering up for POS like Aaron Hernandez or worse yet covering up for child rapists.

That was readily apparent.

Six of the Clemson on the field staff and one of the strength coaches have Alabama history. Several played and coached with Dabo at Alabama. College teammates make for a loyal staff. Giving them family time makes for loyal families.

What about Cristobal? Looks pretty good at Oregon so far. Plus, his Team (Oregon, of all teams!) plays a physical brand of football. And he wins.

It’s kind of hard to play the underdog card at Bama. Don’t think it would work out well for Dabo, but we could do a lot worse.

If you're Byrne.....your first call has to be to Dabo. You have to make him say no.

When that time comes, Dabo will have been at Clemson for 20 years. (asst & HC) That's tough to leave, that is all his kids have ever known.

Having said that, guy I work with is connected to a booster that has flown Dabo and Gene Stallings to a lot of events. (Reunions in Ttown, etc). The booster swears up and down that Dabo says he is just waiting on the call/opportunity. It's his "dream" job. Guess we will find out in a few years.

Why pay a fortune for a recruiter hc? Rather hire Pruitt or Tosh Lupoi.
