Saban also seems to lay an egg every year. 1 perfect season in his career.
It's pretty damn hard to go undefeated, especially with all the extra games now
2018 Clemson (15-0)
2013 Florida State (14-0)
2010 Auburn (14-0)
2009 Alabama (14-0)
4 teams in 13 years and before that the undefeateds only went 13-0 (or 12-0)
It's pretty frickin difficult

Wait, where are these modern-era coaches who have multiple undefeated, championship seasons laying around?
EDIT:
Urban Meyer has 1.
Dabo Swinney has 1.
Jimbo Fisher has 1.
Mack Brown has 1.
Pete Carroll has 1.
Bob Stoops has 1.
Bobby Bowden has 1.
Dude, the more research I do, the more stupid your post looks.

Hell - Saban only has 1

It would come off as disingenuous for Saban. He is who he is and very successful. Just find kids that fit your philosophy.

Urban doesn't have 1...his UF national champs ('06 & '08) both had a loss and so did his OSU national championship team ('14)...
I think his only undefeated teams were at Bowling Green and Utah...maybe you were thinking Jim Tressel...
Since you included Bowden, there was also Fulmer with one during the BCS era...and if you count the BCA era (92-97, pre-cursor to the BCS), you'd also have Stallings (1), Osborne (3), and Carr (1)...

Wait, where are these modern era coaches

My apologies. I was quickly scanning these coaches' wiki pages, and I saw Meyer's 12-0 OSU in 2012. Undefeated, but no championship.

I will say Dabo is annoying in some post games. He attributes their football success to God and trust me having a great relationship with God is great. But do you think he cares about who wins a football game? You recruited some of the best football talent in the world and he acts like it’s a Miracle when they have success. It may come off as really petty of me but I don’t like that aspect of him. I still greatly respect him though as he is a great coach and is a very good role model.

I don't think he ever says he is thanking God for helping them win, I think he generally thanks God for the blessing he has been given to be at Clemson and be able to work hard and all that stuff.

Many have mentioned the weak schedule, but one major factor is the type of culture he's created. Sure, he retains his staff, but he also retains his players. Clemson has had a lot of players decide to stay an extra year when they'd have for sure left if they had been playing somewhere else. Hell, they have an team-wide (including any and all family members), family-style dinner every Thursday. That kinda stuff plays well with a large percentage of humans.
How good could Bama have been if certain guys had given Bama one more year?
We would have 1-3 more titles if a fraction of our early entries had stayed. All the credit to Dabo for creating that culture. Like I said, he has proven that you don’t have to have Saban’s “process” to be successful. A lot of people value quality of life and Dabo has made that a selling point.

How many competitive games did Bama play this season? UGA was the only one; some will say Miss State and LSU but we beat them by a combined score of 53-0 and those games were never in doubt...
It doesn’t matter how well we played against teams like AU, LSU and Miss State. Games like that take their toll. Not only are they physically taxing but those teams have coaches that are good enough to show things on film for other teams to use. Our November - December run was nothing like what Clemson had to face.

Do you guys think Saban could benefit from a little bit of Dabo’s approach in terms of the ability to retain assistants or do you think programs are so desperate for Saban disciples that it’s just not going to happen?
Dabo is Dabo and Saban is Saban.
