THIS WEEK IN SHADENFREUDE, Bama fans are in utter despair after their 24-point win - SB Nation

quote:

We’re not beating Georgia, ND, Clemson, Michigan, or any other playoff team with a 50% Tua and I’m not even sure he’s 50%.

He’s missing 15 yd slant passes for fricks sake. The kid needs to heal. - bamarep

quote:

Offensive focus - and lack thereof

Something needs to be done about the lapses of focus this offense has every game.

They come out ready to play, get up by a couple of scores, and then lose their intensity & start making mistakes. Actually, they lost focus the first drive against LSU.

I kind of think it’s due to Tua’s personality. Kind of like how the offense would seem lackadaisical with Jalen a good bit of the time due to his personality. I think Tua may not have the focus he needs to play well with a big lead. - Eli Goldfinger

quote:

Tua may have lost the Heisman last night

Saban has never risked a championship or a players health for a trophy before so I expect him to sit out this week. He may even sit vs the barn since Jalen should be ready to go. Kyler Murrays stats were already comparable. If Tua sits and he leads OU to beat WV 2 weeks in a row I think he takes the trophy. - jryanw

To be fair, they’re making fun of the fact we’re bitching despite dealing our opponent a convincing loss

If they want despair, they need to go to the basketball thread during a game.

I'm not gonna lie, after reading the names behind the quotes, I'm a little sad about meltdowns in general.

Now I'm not sure if people in other melts are really melting or if they are just full time stupid.

I'm confused as to how my post was in despair. I never said we were going to lose. We can win the next two games with Jones at Qb. I was simply stating the fact that if Tua sits(after sabans comments today I was wrong about him sitting) then he will not win the Heisman. I honestly don't really care if he wins it or not. It would be cool but the championship is so much better.

I agree, yours was just a basic statement of fact that is probably true.

Admittedly, I can only speak for myself.

But I am more of the full time stupid type as opposed to a guy who melts down.

It's because of your ridiculous statement that Tua may have lost the Heisman because of the game, combined the ridiculous statement that Saban was going to sit Tua all based on your own medical opinion on something you have no real information about.

My guess anyway. That's a pretty extreme reaction to things IMO. Because in reality: Tua is still very much the Heisman winner, and you were obviously just way off on the rest.

I'm no medical expert but it's pretty obvious watching the season progress. Playing Tua isn't helping his knee heal and making him a more effective QB. He's missing a lot of passes he made in weeks 1-4 and it's obviously a result of taking hits on a damaged knee.

It's not pretty obvious to me at all.

He looked fine to me in the Miss St game, and the injury he sustained in that game was to his quad, not his knee.

He's missing passes because he's playing better defenses. It's not a coincidence that our defense has started looking better and our offense has started looking worse. We played a bunch of weak defenses to start the season but stronger offenses. Now we are playing stronger defenses but weaker offenses.

Good to know you have no clue what you are talking about.

Look at the accuracy of his passes inside of 15 yards.

He's a different QB right now bud.

I can believe the brace is uncomfortable for him, but I'm just not seeing him all that limited in game as far as the knee goes. He runs, he throws, etc.

He took like 4 sacks in the Miss St game when he's taken 6 all year. Better defenses.

Did you read my post at all???
1.I said Tua MAY have lost the Heisman.
2. I posted it before Saban said he would play. A lot of people speculated he would sit this week before Saban put those thoughts to bed.
3. I said that Saban has never risked a championship or players health for an individual trophy. That is 100% fact. Lucky for us it seems Tua is fine. I trust Saban fully on this.
4. Kyler Murray has now surpassed Tua on most stats after last week. Bama fatigue is real. Some in the media were already beating the Murray drum before the results of last Saturday.
5. If Tua sat out(which he won't) and Murray beat WVU twice in 2 weeks(tough but possible) Murray would surpass Tua as the Heisman favorite.
6. Reading comprehension. Try it.

1. Alex Kirshner is awful at his job. Granted it's social media but read his tweets and this dude is a fricking writer?

2. Ban all posters who were shown in this "article"

We just played 2 of the top 5 defenses in the country.

Miss State had given up 9 TDs all year and Alabama scored 3 in the first half. Match that with nearly 600 yards of offense in Death Valley and all the complainers look ridiculous.

Some of those are taken of context. My only response which I believe to be true is if Alabama loses to Auburn or Georgia they don’t likely make the playoffs. Clemson, ND and Michigan aren’t losing to anyone. There’s no one on their schedule left that can beat them. That leaves one spot open Even with one loss say to Georgia who do you remove to put two sec teams in. If Georgia wins they’re in that’s a fact. My post was in response to another poster who said Tua should sit the next two weeks. It wasn’t a melt.

I think we could lose to Auburn and beat Georgia and get in. A one loss SEC champ is probably going to get in. Hope it doesn’t happen (losing to AU) but I think the committee would put us or UGA in with one loss
