I nixed Cox internet & hulu streaming and now use T-Mobile 5G home internet but I'm waiting until FB season to add their T-Vision service. I don't watch TV except for football.

I'm starting to get a little nervous on Graham and Special Teams looking back he was the Special Teams coordinator for FSU when it basically won us the game in 2017.
I know he is here because of recruiting but it seems like his stint as ST coordinator wasn't great, hopefully he, Charles Kelly and Sal will tag team it.

BOL nugget:

Here's the latest we're hearing on Karl Scott and Maryland:
-- Scott interviewed with Maryland for its defensive coordinator opening this weekend, we have learned. There is no offer yet. Terrapins head coach Mike Locksley is expected to interview three or more candidates before offering the job, so no decision has been made up to this point.
-- Should Scott be offered/accept the job, Nick Saban will have a short list of candidates if the cornerbacks coach job opens. There is and will be a lot of interest.
FYI, we aren't saying Scott is staying or going. This is just the current situation. We will have more as we learn more.

Shy Carter joining the staff as a GA.

Love seeing former players on staff as GAs. Can't wait to see the next army of Sabanites who are ex-Saban players and coaches.

Guessing it's no coincidence that a lot of them are guys Saban has been partial to. Arenas, Vinnie, Perry, and Carter are guys who were tasked with a lot defensively that Saban had been caught "cutting up" with occasionally in practice.
Alternatively, they just so happen to be some of the few not playing in the NFL anymore

Yikes, that is an understatement after reading the article.
Running backs coach Jay Graham took over as special teams coordinator in 2014. In 2013 the Seminoles finished eighth in the nation in special teams play according to Football Outsiders. Since then they've fallen to 37th in 2014, 59th in 2015, 123rd in 2016 and LOL in 2017.

I'm not that worried about his special teams coaching prowess...yet. Saban has stated that special teams is more off a group effort among the coaches with the ST coordinator being the "lead" coach. He made this statement back when Bobby Williams was getting some heat from the fans and media.
I tried to find the article when he stated that about it being a group effort, but couldn't. But I did find an article where Saban stated where he focuses most of his coaching "assistance" on defense and special teams.

So I'm going to hold off for now on fretting about any possible special teams decline, and I'm going to look forward more on the recruits that Graham is going to reel in for us.

Saban, you see, isn't a hands-off type of coach. He's far from it. As a younger man, he once met with famed defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan and asked about the biggest difference between being a head coach and an assistant. Ryan, who never quite achieved the same success as a head coach, told him "I was always someone's best assistant" but "I was not my best assistant." When it came time for Saban to become a head coach, he decided to put his focus on defense and special teams. He'd be "bored to death" if he stood in a tower and watched practice from afar all day long, he said, so it's those two areas he spends the most time coaching.

Yeah, I didn't want to put any blood in the water, but from the second his name came up I was pulling hard for anyone in the country other than him.

If you can put a Waddle type player back there on returns it makes up for some of the bad coaching

More concerned about kick coverage and protections and hopefully blocking a kick or 2 sometime in the next couple of years
.
Return game is going to be outstanding even if they were coached by Billy Graham.

Did you mean Franklin Graham? It would get real awkward if it was Billy.
Posted on 2/3/21 at 10:35 am to FWBFLlaw
No I mean Billy Graham, Bama's kick returners should be outstanding even if coached by a deceased evangelist preacher.
