The coaching staff is taking shape again:
HC: Nick Saban
OC/QB: Bill O'Brien
RB: Robert Gillespie
OL: Doug Marrone
WR: Holmon Wiggins
TE/ST: tbd (possibly Jay Graham, or Jay Boulware)
DC/ILB: Pete Golding
DL: Freddie Roach
OLB: Sal Sunseri
S: Charles Kelly
CB: Karl Scott
Currently 1 staff opening.
*Question: does anyone know how good Graham's special teams units were at Tennessee?

Remember that Alabama opens with Miami in 2021. UNC ran for 600 yards against Miami in 2020. Just saying.

Roughly 5 analysts spots open too, not counting Butch.

Graham was not the ST Coach for Tennessee, just running backs coach. He was the special teams coach when he was at A&M and FSU.

Right!
I'll rephrase the question then: does anyone recall whether Florida State's special teams units were any good in 2013(national champs)-2017 and the same for Texas A&M in 2018?

They ran back a kick against Auburn in the 4th qtr.
They had one of the Aguayos
That's all I got

The Gillespie hire might be one of my favorite hires under Saban. He is the total package when it comes to coaching, recruiting, and relating to players. I would not be surprised if he finishes in the top 5 recruiters in the nation.

FSU gave up a kick six in 2014 or 15 against Georgia Tech. It was a blocked FG returned for a TD.

Auburn had two guys fall down on the play and Kermit Whitfield could fly.

What do yall think of Freddie Roach as a Coach?
Went to Highschool with him, super nice guy. Always thought alot of him and his whole family.

I hope he's responsible for the development of Barmore and Mathis. If so, our defensive line is going to be unbelievable in the near future. Assuming, of course, he can maximize the potential of our younger guys.

Sumlin & Pruitt filling two of those is my prediction.

As a coach, so far he seems to be ok. We'll know more about his coaching abilities after this year now that Barmore will be gone.
As a recruiter is where I would like to see more from him. His only real get as the primary recruiter was Kadarius Calloway (according to 247). Hopefully he can build on that in this next recruiting cycle.

Gillespie recruited Kamara and Hurd. Dudes a hell of a recruiter.

Roach had some struggle early in the season but finally got those guys to play better halfway though.

Pruitt is going to be unemployable in any role until after the Tennessee situation gets clearer.

Yeah, the DL play was a lot better the second half of the season. Hopefully the first half play was mostly due to the crazy offseason.

I find it kind of difficult to believe that Fleck is willing to take that job given the current circumstances unless his weird rah rah act has already worn out its welcome in Minnesota and that relationship has gone sideways. He's making almost a million more per year than Pruitt was at a job where expectations are basically "don't be a laughingstock".

Not sure totally about that. Analysts are wholly removed from recruiting. We will see.

It doesn’t sound like Fleck is going to UcheaT. I’m not sure who the coach is that they supposedly offered $8 mil a year to, but any half way decent coach better get that money guaranteed. I bet they end up having to settle for Elliot.
