I wonder if Lance Taylor will get a look for our RB coach spot. He's currently the RB coach at ND, but he played at Bama under Shula. He was a walk-on that earned a scholarship and ended up being the special teams captain. He was the RB coach at Stanford when McCaffery and Love were there, then spent a couple years in the NFL with the Panthers before going to ND. He was also a GA at Bama during Saban's first 2 years.

Yeah, I just saw his named mentioned on another site (not b an "insider" or anything), and I had forgotten all about him. Seems like he can coach the RB position, but I guess it comes down to whether or not he can recruit at the level that Saban demands. RB coach is one position that we need a good recruiter at.

We currently don't have a defensive position coach opening. I guess maybe if we lose either Kelly or Scott at some point, that might open up a spot for him. But as it stands right this minute we have 5 defensive coaches, and I don't see us adding a 6th.
