***Charles Kelly and coaching nuggets (Thursday 3 PM)...
TW

We are aware of the rumors but just checked with some sources and so far Charles Kelly hasn't been in contact with Missouri. One source said it would make no sense with Kelly coming back to the state of Alabama to get closer to his 10-year pension. So obviously those sources don't think he's going to Missouri at this point. It's coaching so we never say no way but that is where we stand so far.

We mentioned Jeff Stoutland yesterday, with the announcement Flood was leaving for Austin today as a possible candidate, but so far all sources tell us it's not a done deal. But he is under consideration to some degree. One source believes he could be retained by the Eagles but this is still TBD. Joe Pannunzio is also in the same situation. We mention JP because of his previou stints on Saban's staff. Both seem to like the NFL, but we aren't ruling either out yet. Saban is likely still in the feeling out stages here. But could act swiftly.

Have also heard the Pete Golding rumors but so far nothing substantial. It's rumor season and we are checking on those. They often turn at the drop of the hat.

Again it's coaching rumors and they are very fluid, like Banks. But we will let you know anything we hear when we hear it.

No one.

He may be retained by the Eagles. He may not.

Why would the guy want to return to the old grind of having to kiss the azz of 16-18 years old kids?

I told y’all about Banks a week ago.. Wiggins is another to watch. I’m never really in the known.. but highschool coaches hear these kind of changes first. The kids get calls and so do we. Most coaches reach out to recruits to let them know and feel them out. I expect Banks to get a CO title to go along with the raise.. Saban is not happy about this one. Sark has burned the bridge.. but he has to compete at Texas and they expect results now. Is what it is

Supposedly they gave him an Asst. HC title to go along with the $1 mil+ salary.

I just hope we can pull Stoutland from the NFL. That would be huge.

Sark retained the WR coach. So, it seems like Wiggins should be staying. Maybe gets a raise and new title. Like you mentioned, it said a lot when Smitty came out after halftime and went directly to Wiggins.

Are you hearing a different position for Wiggins with Texas retaining Coleman at WR coach or a different school? Which one(s)?

There is a chance that guys are getting offered jobs somewhere other than Texas, too, obviously

You are right. TW nuggets were Higgins would leave with Saban’s blessing. So, if the bridge has been burned, then there won’t be a blessing.

Alabama Analyst Charlie Strong expected to join the Jacksonville Jaguars

Urban Meyer is mentioned as the possible new head coach for the Jaguars. Strong was Meyer's DC at Florida. (btw: by saying this I'm not suggesting that Strong will become the DC in Jacksonville if Urban is indeed hired)

Some funny guy has already changed Stoutland's wikipedia page as if he's already confirmed as Alabama's new OL coach, complete with headings in Crimson Tide colors: ;)

Supposedly Texas is going to pay Banks $1.1 mil. That's a tough offer to match or better for a glorified TE coach/recruiter.

I see no reason Bama couldn't match.
