Coach Saban has become happier and more relaxed. It makes me nervous.

Did you see him today? Happy. Relaxed. Introspective. All smiles. What is going on?
I have always been a worrier. And I must confess that in recent weeks I have suffered from some anxiety, restlessness and lack of sleep over certain issues with this team, particularly the situation at linebacker. I have seen my physician and he has prescribed a mild seditive to sort of take the edge off during the coming weeks.
In the past, I would wake up in the middle of the night, and unable to sleep, would perhaps break down a bit of film and then practice some controlled breathing while visualizing Coach and staff working deep into the night.
But now I wonder if this guy is even still at his office. Did anyone check tonight? Are the lights on over there at the football complex? Is it possible he’s home, cuddling with Ms Terry and watching an old movie?
Look. The man’s a living legend in my book. And if he’s mellowed a bit and is occasionally stopping to smell the roses then a part of me sees this a a beautiful thing. But I must confess I would feel a bit more comfortable right now if I had seen more grimacing and hostility at that press conference today.
I don’t know what to think. I mean, we all see the multitude of problems we have. Why in the heck is he happy?

Maybe he knows the hunger and makeup of his team better than we do...Just a guess. If coach is smiling and laid back history shows our opponents are in for a world of hurt.

Hook, meet line and sinker. Nice job OP.

Some have said that everything he says and does is designed to send a message to players. In other word, he’s using the press to influence the team. If that’s the case, maybe the happy relaxed Saban is designed to relax the team? Which mean, he really extremely worried and so he his projecting happiness and ease?
I’m confused.
I don’t know whether he’s really happy or this is just a psych ops. In the past the harsher he was, the closer we were to greatness. And the more gentle and supportive, the bigger the mess.
But he sure seemed in a good mood today. And it’s very troubling.

Did you really have your doctor prescribe you a sedative over football games? Come on man.

Indications have been that coach got some good news on the injury front today, if so that might explain his laid back attitude. I'm never worried when he's in a good mood...It's Auburn that should be stressed

Well we are undefeated and people are putting us down. Sounds like what he wants.

After seeing Saban joking in his PC yesterday afternnon, I pulled into the work parking lot this morning thinking about how I would respond to this inevitable thread...
I'm not sure how to take it either. He's either pleased with the situation, or he isn't feeling a lot of pressure because he knows this team doesn't have it. I'm leaning toward pleased. But, I still expect you people to stay true to form and down vote the hell out of me.

The week leading up to MSU game, practices weren't "good" or up to CNS' expectations/standards.
Maybe the team has responded + the news of 2-3 players potentially returning for IB is the cause of his calmness.

Nick talking about ripped jeans and laughing tells me that he is satisfied with whatever progress his team is making in practice. Otherwise he would've went on a rant about the lack of focus on Mercer. This team must be locked in.

I don't think he cares about winning anymore.

Maybe its because he is thinking he might get 3 future NFL linebackers back soon.

Maybe Saban was happy because he just saw some hot coed in ripped jeans with her arse hanging out.
