Yes, I was there. Why are you butthurt about facts? I'm pretty sure interceptions outnumbering TDs by w wide margin and tons of incompletions is not a good thing.

last thing we saw was the A-Day game. If you’re so concerned about the “here and now”, it seems that would be of interest to you.
I realize that A-Day is often “manipulated”, but scrimmages are even more so. I’ve been to a number of practices in decades past and one thing I learned is that even a trained eye, which i did not have, has a great deal of trouble accurately interpreting what they see, much less even a smart and serious non-professional.
I remember sitting near the most prominent HS HC in the state at the time, a very bright man, not a tobacco chewing good ole boy type coach, and he was being peppered with many questions by his friends after most plays and his most frequent answer was “I don’t know, I don’t know what the coaches are looking for”, or “…I don’t know what the responsibilities were on that play”.
You think you know what you saw but you likely don’t. I know the players don’t always know either, though Saban says they do, but I trust them more than a poster who’s shown no reason or understanding of human nature while posting. It makes me question your judgement of high level nebulous football practices that contradicts what his coaches, teammates, as well as other practice observers have said, as well as my own eyes.
We don’t have long to wait, kickoff is around the corner.

I'll take all the down votes but if it's close KDB has to go with Russell. He's the highest rated recruit in Alabama history & to let him walk so he can ball out at Tech or A&M would be horrible optics. And if Alabama can't afford Monshun Sales they sure as hell couldn't afford to pay Keelon to sit on the bench another year.

We had to pay to keep both of them this year. I’m sure Mack wasn’t megabucks but I bet it cost a few high school recruits this year just to keep our most experienced backup.

It was reported that AM was injured so I dont want to fully judge him on A Day.
If I were fully judging him on A Day AR is so obviously the starter its not worth discussing.

There were absolutely zero reports of him being hurt prior to A-day. Then he played like shite and suddenly he was battling an injury. That was 100% DeBoer being loyal to a player who has followed him all the way by giving him an out for sucking.

I do feel like DeBoer almost wants Mack to win the job. I dont understand him staying if he didnt think he could win the job though.

A Day is a bullshite exhibition, so that tells me ine thing about your football knowledge.
I happen to have a tad of real football knowledge and insight that you would never have unless, ih nevermind.
I'll just say that I attended every practice from 89-93 for some odd reason ?? and for some other reason I get into closed practices and scrimmages that only certain groups are allowed to.

Were you at A Day or even watch the game? I was there and watching Mack running/walking, he was clearly hobblilng. I didn't need some kind of "report" to realize this. Is that a reason why he missed some passes? Probably.
Let's face it, there are times where the pass has got to be absolutely on the money with no room for error. Having your ankle that you push off of dinged up can almost assuredly impact your ability to consistently throw those passes that have to be perfect.
While I think Russell is going to win the job in the end, I feel like we need to let August roll around and there will be way more reps to judge Mack by.
I think Russell wins the starter job, Mack will be the back up and next Spring, he's going to hit the portal. Let's face it, Mack would start at probably 75-80% of the schools out there. I can't blame him if he does and if that happens, I wish him well.
