So if A&M is out we can guess the Oregon offer was insane.

How much Bama is in this kid? Guess we will find out

He's supposedly wearing an Oregon shirt. Someone posted a pic of him on BOL.

ETA: It may be a Miami shirt.

Reading a few quotes his father seems to be all Bama but Tank seems to be more Oregon. Seen this playout before and usually not in our favor.

quote:

Alabama: “We came back up there and everything was still consistent,” his father told BamaOnLine. “There wasn’t anything different. There isn’t anything that is forced. They let you be yourself. You are not just coming in there trying to be someone you aren’t. … They want you to be there because you want to be there. It’s more about family and just keeping in touch with each other. It’s nothing glamorous, and not for the money. If you want to be here the door is open. You like it better than how some of these other schools approach it as they’ll just try to throw anything at you.”

quote:

Oregon: “It’s far away from home, so I feel like it’ll definitely be a great opportunity for me to grow and just be uncomfortable and just grow in situations,” he told ScoopDuck’s Max Torres earlier this month. “I feel like the scheme they got set up for me will be great for me also. Especially seeing like the EDGES they got eating. Coach (Dan) Lanning and coach Tosh Lupoi, they do a great job of just making everything simple and just letting the edges go eat for real. I feel like me going up would be a great fit for me also.”

No recruit is solid even those committed. How the season plays out will have a huge effect come December and January. If Alabama has a great season, we will see kids that maybe were not on our radar look this way and if the season does not go well we will see attrition in the class. But the same is true for Oregon and every other program out there.

Right now, recruits are just a name on paper.

This is the last straw with Nike, I'm going to be fully an Allbirds man.

Oh well…it’s still a damn good class.
Would love to see another interior defensive lineman take that spot.

Saint, you’ve mentioned Viliami Moami DT a couple of times…
Just curious, have you heard anything about whether or not we’re recruiting him?
The guy looked unblockable in the 1on1 camps.

Tim Watts said there hasn't been much contact with him.

I’d be really curious why the staff hasn’t shown interest. I think he’s wildly underrated and assuming he’s healthy this year, he’s going to dominate at Thompson this Fall. IMO, he would really fill a need (dominant DT).

Still, if he’s adamantly not interested in Bama, not a lot can be done. Personally, I don’t understand that but then again, I’m not objective.

Staff clearly has a type. They haven’t been ones to seek out big bodies on d line and basically ran off Oatis because he doesn’t fit what they want to do.

Keenan is big but seems athletic enough to do what they want and they inherited him. But we have nearly 2 full classes to look at guys they go after at D line and clearly prioritize 240-280 lb types

Yeah, if we get a big guy it will be someone like Q Williams, Vea, or Suh who are insanely athletic but could play 0 tech if needed.

Oatis left because Saban retired.

Oatis stayed a bit, then transferred. He was buried on the depth chart and had a quote about how he and the new staff didn’t vibe
