We were lucky Aj was mobile raised and Coker sat on fsu bench. Kiffin turning Sims into a good qb was also good fortune. Don't kid yourself.

I mean we were also lucky kids from Texas, Hawaii, Florida, and California wanted to be here too. We’re not entitled to any player. We’re fortunate whenever the good ones want to be here.

Too bad for the AU fans who thought 8/1 the barn would rise from the ashes and other programs would get hammered.
I tried to tell them even though with the new court ruling for July 1 and the creation of both NIL Go and the CSC that they had to still work out how to deal with collectives and what if any punishments would be handed out.

Most recruiting experts feel Alabama is the team to beat. But I’ve seen some chatter about Oregon surging.

Of course they are throwing stacks of NIL cash at him, he’s as elite of a prospect as they come. With Oregon, and also A&M, in the mix, this recruitment will very likely make a lot of Tide fans uneasy leading up to his announcement. That is simply just the state of recruiting today. I think he ultimately ends up in Bama’s class but the recruiting rags, internet insiders, et al are going to drum up the suspense I feel. And the competition for Tank’s services will undoubtedly make him a very sweet offer.

Being close so momma can make it to games still matters to a lot of these young men, financial incentives aside.

With the kind of money Oregon can pay I don't think covering the cost of weekly plane tickets or rent for mama's house in Eugene will be a problem. Whether he's comfortable with the culture shock of going from Alabama to Eugene is the bigger question. That and the fact that Oregon is becoming more and more of a poster child for underachievement by the year. For a program that has pretty consistently been in the national conversation for the last 25-30 years they have nothing to show for it.

I wonder who is higher on our board, Seaborn or Gunner Rivers?
Rivers is ranked higher by the recruiting sites.

Seaborn is related to Tua. Like a cousin or something.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday that will prohibit third-party, pay-for-play payments and directs the Secretary of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board to clarify that athletes are amateurs and not employees, the White House announced. The full executive order related to college sports was not released.
The NCAA and Power Five leaders have long pursued Congressional action on Capitol Hill, most recently with the introduction of the SCORE Act in the House. The executive order prohibits third-party, pay-for-play payments but “does not apply to legitimate, fair-market-value compensation that a third party provides to an athlete, such as for a brand endorsement,” according to the White House’s release. It is unknown what entity will have the authority to enforce the prohibition of third-party, pay-for-play payments included in Trump’s executive order.
An executive order streamlines some of the top items on the NCAA’s wishlist. The order “requires the preservation and, where possible, expansion of opportunities for scholarships and collegiate athletic competition in women’s and non-revenue sports.”

If this ends up fixing this whole situation then we can all stand, just once, as a bipartisan Bama board and be happy about a political decision
