If it's more than a year out, I'd say the odds any recruit signs drop by a good bit. It's kind of like a sophomore girl in HS committing to her sophomore boyfriend to go to senior prom together in two years. Odds are, it ain't happening two years later.

Recruiting used to be so much fun to keep up with 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. I used to know every Alabama commitment by name and most of the targets.
Just not fun anymore and I couldn't tell you a single recruits name in the 2026 cycle.

I agree 100%. The past 2 seasons my interest level has gone on life support. This new era of nil/tamper portal is just not much fun

Yeah I mean recruiting rankings have never meant less. Every year we see how many of these guys never pan out, or transfer and never play a single down.
Not to mention that every one of our "commits" can change their mind a week before signing day, and go with a bigger NIL offer.
So yeah, following this stuff at this point is pretty pointless except to just kind of see where we are with # of commitments and rankings every now and then. Or if we get an obvious gamechanger like a Ryan Williams or Keelon Russell
