Looking at their board they don't see a realistic shot at landing him. However, they are trying to convince themselves that Freeze can win something big
Literally saying Saban and Kirby have only won titles because of recruits and that Freeze will too once the big recruits come in
Just rinse and repeat with their delusional hopes for the last few years now

What does he even mean "he made the right decision".

Is he, though
Yes. He was a #1 choice for Saban to get on staff primarily for the issues he causes Saban and his ability to recruit

Minkah played every very position in the defensive backfield and excelled. Has multiple pick 6 and miles it on special teams.

I guess he means that AU's QB situation is arse, and he'd probably get immediate playing time.

He will essentially be given the starting job.

Why? Like seriously why? Everyone can pay players openly now. Are they just dropping the much bigger bags than everyone else?
It's close to home, and they'll probably outbid everyone else.
The one guy on their board who actually seems to have concrete knowledge of their recruiting says they've secured enough NIL cash from the big guys to pay for a #1 class this year and next, Freeze just has to convince the players to come. The big money people really want to see him succeed and they've agreed to pay what it takes, apparently.
Unfortunately for them, Freeze keeps shitting the bed on the field.

If that happens they'll continue to be bad for the next two years. He's not ready to start as a freshman. He needs 2 years of development before he's starter quality. Not that Freeze has ever actually developed a QB.

So what you're essentially saying is that Auburn has more NIL money than anyone in the country?
Yeah I call bullshite

I don't know if they have more money but I'm thinking they're going nuts with NIL. They do have Yella Wood and I guarantee you he's coughed up mega bucks. More than anyone else? Not sure about that but you gotta believe they're spending like drunken sailors at this point.
I suspect they're just as another poster above pointed out, going all out this year and maybe next to pull in monster classes and hope that from that point, good players will naturally flock to AU without having to fork over the big money.
You have to wonder though, will this be Jimbo Fisher 2.0? I see eerily similarities.

Thought I stumbled into the auburn recruiting thread

It’s interesting for their NiL collective. They do have a booster that has a ton of money so that helps. I also somewhat wonder if the nature of who their students/graduates are help in some way.
Like, Auburn doesn’t have as many students as Alabama but they do have a lot. Their percentage of in state(or nearby) students far exceeds ours. So part of me presumes more Auburn grads stay local and benefit from lower cost of living so they get a good bit of the nickel and dime donations.
Like I’ve mentioned being a contributor to YeaAlabama a few times on here and half the people act like they’d rather light their money on fire than help with a collective of players you’ve spent untold hours watching, talking about, and posting about.
Put it this way…if someone had come to us in 2006 when we were the laughing stock of football and said “hey if enough Alabama fans just give a $20 a month then we’ll turn this whole thing around a win a championship!” We’d have been all over it. Now we’ve won so much a lot of fans just take for granted what it takes to win.

If you want to spend your money on paying players to play football at Bama feel free to do so, it’s your money. But I’ll spend my money I’ve earned on what I want.

That’s fine. Just don’t bitch about it when they end up elsewhere and wonder why they end up at other schools.

I never have before and I never will. If players want to leave so be it. But don’t cry on here or get on a soapbox and preach about how ppl should spend their money.

You’re projecting and reaching. I didn’t say what anyone else should do. The topic of discussion about why they are having success despite being a bad team came up and I theorized a potential factor.
Meanwhile we still have the number 2 class right now and we’re doing great.

Anytime they ask me to donate at the credit card swipe at CVS, I tell the person behind the counter I already decided what I spend my money on, past date Christmas candy, Nyquil, Arizona Ice Tea, Condoms and a USB Cable that doesn't work. If they want to cure breast cancer they can do that with their own money.
