That tweet about Courtney Morgan is from Woodrow Lowe Jr. Is he the son of former Bama great Woodrow Lowe?

Inside receiver with the skills to emerge as a high-volume target and a go-to playmaker in a spread attack. Elected to forgo his senior year of high school and reclassify after putting up big numbers as an underclassman for one of South Florida’s top talent-producing programs. Size has not been third-party verified, but is believed to be hovering right around 5-foot-10.5, 180 pounds. Has proven to be extremely efficient working out of a slot alignment as he uses his acceleration and agility to create separation on underneath routes. Advanced eye control and soft hands can lead to highlight-reel worthy grabs. Might not win every foot race, but is evasive after the catch and can avoid would-be tacklers with his quick feet. Will likely face a major adjustment period as he will initially be one of the youngest players on the college roster of his choice, but projects as a potential impact player on Saturdays if he can keep progressing and fine-tuning his craft. Ability to deliver in key moments throughout his football career despite not being the biggest or fastest shouldn’t be overlooked.
Could be our Edelman/Welker type guy.

I was thinking more like a Junior Seau or Ray Nitschke

Got really excited when I saw his father is former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown...just not that Antonio Brown.

His brother is the greatest defensive back in Bama history and it's not even close.
Posted on 10/4/24 at 8:23 am to MontyFranklyn
Well, it’s certainly close because Pat Surtain 2 locked down half the field for three years and went to the nfl and immediately became the best cover corner in the league. Watching the all 22 of Surtain at Bama was crazy. Teams didn’t even try him.

Really thought we'd get some pretty immediate commitments following the game against UGA.

Seems like the staff is big on camp/evaluation commits. So for the underclassmen they may be telling them to hold off.
For seniors I get the feeling we’re in for a few more guys we feel good enough about. I bet the game will have a big impact on future commitments but we may not want kids to announce in the heat of the moment. Let it marinate so it’s real.

You are rarely going to see quick commitments in today's landscape, especially mid season. A lot has to be worked out and negotiated.
We don't want to be USC where you see these quick commits that everybody knows are going to flip.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I believe he's referring to Donovan Starr.

Looks like Au is getting some steam with Offord

Why? Like seriously why? Everyone can pay players openly now. Are they just dropping the much bigger bags than everyone else? Cuz there is no other thing I can think of for a reason a top recruit would go there. They don't win games. They don't put people in the league. West Georgia is a terrible place to live. Freeze is objectively not a good coach and he literally blames anyone but himself for losing. I don't get it.

If they pull Offord and a few others they claim, they could seriously challenge for the top spot. In the history of recruiting, has a 4-8/3-9 team ever had such a recruiting class? Maybe a 2nd year class, but this is Freeze's 3rd class, and next year doesn't look any better.

Everyone remember when Texas aTm had the best recruiting class money could buy and 2 years later they had a fired coach and all those player transfer?
You have to pay the right guys.

I am certain they are paying very well. Lots of big money donors associated with AU who want the program off of life support.
That said, as much as he is an easy target for his past life decisions, the man is a great recruiter. Winning in the living rooms with equitable NIL deals to the bigs is a winning combo.

Also, think a few of these recruits like Offord played together before and are buying into being the class that brings Auburn back.
Posted on 10/4/24 at 1:35 pm to Che Boludo
Is he, though? Maybe a "pretty good" recruiter. However, he was essentially doing 120 in a 70 mph zone back when at Ole Miss when other coaches were just merely doing no more than 90. That kind of $$$$ (for that time... relative to what everybody else was doing) would have made Harsin look like a top recruiter.
