Saban doesn’t bring in an older player like that to sit. Guessing we see Marshall and 32 starting inside. I’ll take it.

24 tackles in 4 seasons at UGA. I would be shocked if he starts at Bama next season.

Believe he had a knee injury in there that set him back. He will have to win the job, but he isn’t coming here his last year to sit. He will be given every chance to win the job. May the best man win.

Face it guys, our ILB play and development is light years behind Georgia right now. It's entirely possible Marshall can step in and be the play calling ILB and be ready where our young guys (Campbell and Murphy) aren't even if he isn't going to start there. That's where we are right now.

It's going to take 12-18 months with a new ILB coach to wash the absolute shite stink off the lost years of development from the last one. It just is.

JubileeCity

This is one bitter poster. Just because he may have coached a kid in HS he knows more than Saban. Maybe he stays at a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses.

It's official, but I don't really understand the move.

That picture of him has him wearing a #15 Alabama Jersey. I hope he realizes Dallas Turner probably not gonna give that up.

I would have to say LSWho won this round in the transfer portal.
They got an All PAC 12 LB and we got someone with 6 tkls/ yr LB.
We probably just needed some experience in that position. He may not play much.

In this case I'd rather take an SEC splinter catcher than an all Pac 12 guy. I'm not seeing much from guys that leave the Pac 12.

I think the UGA transfer is for depth because the staff anticipates 1-2 more ILBs transferring out.

Did they though? I never heard or saw anything on this board or any of the recruiting services that the Speights kid was someone we were pursuing. First I heard of it was some LSU fan bragging about beating us out for him.

Doesn't really mean shite. Marshall may be more talented and may have put up better numbers than the dude who transferred to LSU if Marshall had played in the Pac 12.

Look at what anOSU fans were saying when Jamo transferred. Dude couldn't get on the field at anOSU and look what he did at Bama.

The bottom line is we should all just wait and see what happens once he gets on the field at Bama

1 person on this board said we were interested in Speights. I never heard anything else about it.

How much of it has to do with talent evaluation at the position though? I thought that Christian Harris developed nicely, was a raw player coming out of high school. Dylan Moses just never lived up to the hype, peaked in high school it seems.

Ale Kaho was a bust. Shane Lee was just not athletic enough.

Too-Too just isn't as talented as everyone thought he'd be. Moody never seemed to turn the corner.

Seems like we have some promising guys coming back though.

I don't think talent evaluation was the issue. We lacked an ILB coach to develop these guys. Pete Golding? He wasn't the answer for multiple defensive issues. This is why Marvin Constant has said he's glad Golding is gone and how Golding harmed players' pro football aspirations.

From what I saw Moody was our best ILB this past season in my opinion and it wasn't close.

As much as I appreciate Saban he kept Golding for too long. It was apparent 2 or 3 years into Golding's tenure that Golding wasn't competent enough for this level of football.

Also, remember how Moody's high school coach came out and echoed many of our criticisms of Golding and said Golding plays favorites. Golding was in way over his head to the point that makes me think Tosh had to be a potted plant to be ran off like he was.

Also, I will say this. I remember how Mack Wilson looked under Pruitt and how he looked under Golding. And, how Henry T. looked under Pruitt at Tennessee and how he looked under Golding at Bama. Golding ain't shite! That dude was a cancer to the program.
