Love the optimism. I'm going to have to go watch some film now. This kid is tiny.

Keilan

After watching highlights, I tend to agree with him that we don’t have a back like him (usually I think that’s BS). Honestly, not sure how his skills translate to SEC play but he’s got very good burst and excellent hands.

Maybe a Jacobs, Drake, Ford and Hart hybrid (though he’s a bit different from each).

Assuming he buys in (all indications point to yes there) I think he’ll be a very good asset. I think how valuable he will be will probably depend a lot on how he’s used.

If nothing else, he should be a really good kick/punt returner. I really like that he can catch so well out of the backfield. He runs physical for his size which I really like as well.

LINK ]Chris Kirschner’s 10 favorite stories with SEC Country

Tua Tagovailoa is my favorite recruit while I covered Alabama.
quote:

Doomsday is approaching. The existence of SEC Country is sadly about to go “poof!” into the abyss of the internet. It’s unfortunate because all of us at SEC Country have created some terrific stories over the years...

[Fast forward]

I got to do things I couldn’t have imagined when I was younger. I got to dream big. I got to learn about so many different people from all walks of life. I got to see how other people deal with their struggles and how they move on. I learned how people rebound after heartbreaking losses.

This job taught me about life. It brought me so many friendships that I’ll cherish forever. The site may no longer exist in a few days, but it can’t erase the memories I have.

And I can’t forget the readers. I still think it’s the coolest thing how people trust me to provide information, to entertain, to perhaps provide an escape from what they might be going through. It’s cool as hell that you guys read my work.

You guys ask me questions. You guys thank me for just doing my job. I can’t say how much that all meant to me. And, of course, thank you for trusting me when I said that Najee Harris wasn’t going to Michigan.

With all that being said, here are my favorite stories:

LINK ]1. Will Reichard perseveres past his father’s death

Feature writing is what I love. For the most part, recruiting writers just provide the basics when it comes to the players they cover. I would go insane if I was just providing recruiting updates, so I told stories. Reichard’s positivity was infectious when I talked to him.

LINK ]2. Jake Pratt’s story

Learning about Jake and how he doesn’t let Down syndrome affect him inspired me so much that after talking with his family, I marked in my calendar to volunteer for Night to Shine, which is a prom for people with special needs. I never seen so many happy people before in one building and I can’t wait to continue volunteering for the event.

LINK ]l3. Najee Harris’ gift to his former trainer

Najee Harris is one of the most special kids I’ve come in contact with. Learning what he’s been through and the sacrifices he’s made was inspiring. Najee didn’t let the negativity win. Instead, he thanked those who were always there for him.

Elliot Baker was set to become a firefighter after graduating from high school until a coach from the junior college directly across the street from school spotted him.

LINK ]5. The relationship between Rush Propst and JJ Peterson

JJ Peterson has had a difficult life, but Rush Propst is one of the few people who has never let him down.

LINK ]6. How Nick Saban’s faith helped Alabama recruit Tua Tagovailoa

The first time I talked to Tua Tagovailoa, I could tell he was different. He wasn’t like any other recruit I had talked to. This was the first of many stories I wrote on Tagovailoa.

LINK ]7. Paul Tyson on his recruitment and being Bear Bryant’s great-grandson

We all know by now that Paul Tyson is Bear’s great-grandson. Paul and his father reflected and told some great stories of being connected to Alabama.

LINK ]8. Ben Davis’ commitment

Ben Davis was one of my favorite players to talk to in the 2016 class. I was at his commitment ceremony and talked to him and his father, Wayne, who is the leading tackler in Alabama history.

LINK ]9. Mecole Hardman’s mother had faith in Mark Richt

This was the first feature story I ever wrote, so this one will always be special to me.

LINK ]10. The middle school phenom

Jaheim Oatis was offered by Alabama in the eighth grade, but that’s not what makes him special.

Yes it is. Prayers for all their staff to find good new jobs.

I told you offline, but I don't think I mentioned on the board that I talked (via text) with Kirschner a little. He seems like a genuine and kind hearted person. He's pretty funny too.

Meanwhile over on the LSU Recruiting Board....
quote:

You guys are in for a big surprise ????. Can’t wait for it to all come out soon. Why not enjoy your HUGE commitment in Parrish? Y’all don’t know what really went down with the staff and what was promised. It will all come out soon. And y’all will be back to this thread crying why LSU didn’t offer Quad when he’s drafted in the first round. Should it be suprisinf that LSU can’t evulate QBs and also can’t communicate honestly about there intentions?

Y’all wanna crucify me when I have for MONTHS tried to get LSU in front of another recruit just like I did TJ. It’s not my fault that LSU is behind the 8 ball and has an issue with evaluation. Also Sophsner is a silent commit to Bama. So enjoy losing to Saban again. What you don’t know is Ensminger called Quad Last Thursday and Quad told him to hit the bricks. Bc he was lied to several times. Wake up. Your mindset and LSU mindset is why the Dylan Moses’s and Patrick Surtain and Dak Prescott’s go elsewhere. Enjoy your 6 win season coming in 2018. I’ll enjoy watching Quad drafted in the first round probably after beating that arse in a few years.

Last post. Not reading or posting on this site again. Not my monkeys not my circus.

I just gotta say iced coffee sucks fricking dick.

I had a dental appointment first thing this morning and they put that fluoride paste on my teeth before I left. The hygienist said I could eat and drink anything other than hot beverages. I stopped by Starbucks on my way to work and got an iced black coffee.

It's fricking terrible.
