Alabama landed 2020 quarterback Carson Beck on Tuesday afternoon when the Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence product decided to flip from Florida to the Crimson Tide.
“Just the two times I went up there, just the family environment that it is up there,” Beck said of why he made the decision. “Kind of having a feeling that all the coaches there have your best interests and they really care for you. And also being able to talk to players that are there right now and them just talking to me about what everyday life is like there, what it’s like to play football at Alabama. I just fell in love with the place.”
Beck had been committed to the Gators for baseball. He will play both sports in Tuscaloosa. “It’s definitely cool that I get to play both because then I have the option of what I want to do later,” Beck said. “I know it’s a far ways away but, say I were to get drafted in baseball or football, it gives me the option to keep playing both and have fun playing both.”

“I had a meeting with Coach Saban that morning and he talked with us for like 45 minutes telling us what Alabama was about, just telling stories and stuff,” Beck said. “Later, when I was talking with Coach (Dan) Enos, he just kept going on and on about how much they wanted me. I felt the urge to get it over with because this is the place I want to be.”
It was Enos and offensive coordinator Mike Locksley that worked with Beck at camp earlier this month. “[Enos] said he loves my strong arm, my balance when I’m in the pocket and my ability to run at the size I’m at,’ Beck said.
Alabama has offered and hosted a handful of 2020 signal callers this offseason. “Coach Enos said they were only going to take one (quarterback),” Beck said. “That’s kind of why I did commit there because of how much they said they wanted me. They said unanimously as a staff they’ve never had it happen to where everyone was like this is the guy we want.”

He said he loves it and it’s not for everyone but if you’re willing to sacrifice and grind every single day and get better and have one goal in mind of a national championship, then this is the place for you.”

Coffee should be hot. I have strong opinions about this that has led to conflict with family, friends and strangers. I am not proud of the things I have said to people but a just cause is worth fighting for.

I like my coffee hot in the morning, but a nice cold brew after lunch when it's 97 and humid outside is pretty great.

Generally I like my women like vanilla bean ice cream; rich, white and overlooked but I really don't discriminate when it comes to females.
