Plus that nonsense re: dictating about signing his brother makes me not give a damn if we sign this kid or not.

Yep.

Nathan Pickering is taller, faster and plays with a mean streak.

Sopsher is a great talent, but he is going to need a lot of work to overcome his laziness and poor technique.

I knew I was going to catch hell for that post but I was asking a question! Our top 3 pass rushing targets were thibs, Smith, and Bogle right? I'm not sure if I had missed anyone.

As others have already said, Bama landed it's top two OLB/DE targets they had a decent chance of landing -- King Mwikuta and Kevin Harris. Both will likely end up just as good as Bogle, if not better. Bama also targets elite players nation-wide, like Nolan Smith and Thibodeaux. Elite players have elite options, so odds of landing them are naturally not very good. They're long shots. So, we miss more long shots than we hit (we finish 2nd a lot) -- but we hit some of them.

For 10 years, Bama has been recruiting more successfully than ALL other FBS programs.

Let that sink in.

Obviously I would love to get him but sounds he might be a better fit for LSU. Nick ain't burning a valuable scolly on a kid who will never contribute.

We just need to hold on to Byron Young.

Yep.

I think Young will stick and it appears we'll get Banks' commitment on Sat. If so, that's 25 and covers ALL of our needs for this class very well. Who we fill the other three spots with is icing on the cake.

Eta: Our chances with To'oto'o (ILB/OLB) seem very good. It also seems likely that K Robinson (APB speedster) will be in this class.

Damn it, I thought National Signing Day would be slow but now we have 5 targets scheduled to commit on Feb 6th, plus 3 flip targets that we know of, plus our 3 we want to hold on to. Why can't this ever be chill?

Do it all ATH and 247Sports Compotise 5-star Reggie Grimes worming out with the LBs and holding his own athletically with a bunch of smaller cats. Impressive.

Well at least some of our targets aren’t going to the “bullpups” as he calls them

Did Michael Carvell write that?

Does anyone know if Carvell still writes for the AJC? And if so, has his butthurt over Bama subsided?

Carvell is a DAWGNATION guy!! I believe AJC canned his arse!!! I looked on his timeline and nothing tweeted out since the early signing period.

Insider over on BOL says we are no longer actively recruiting Darnell Wright, Devonta Lee or Akeem Dent.

Based on the track record of "insiders" this year that means we are getting all 3 of them.

Has there been any videos or talk on fuller the Florida state commit ? Like how’s he’s performing his senior highlights are really good. I actually like him better than Sorrells. I’d take him and Pickering over Sopsher! Even though I really like Sopsher, but two for one all day

I could be wrong, but I think Bama is aiming to sign Byron Young plus one more DL. I don't think there's room or need to take more than six DL. I think Bama's board for that 6th DL spot may be: (1) Pickering, (2) Sopsher, (3) Fuller, (4) Sorrells. But, the staff may like Fuller more than Ish.

Eta: In this cycle, I think DeMarvin Leal is the staff's 2nd favorite DL prospect after Alfano.

Pickering is my personal favorite out of the non Sophsher group, but Fuller has looked really impressive.

Off topic. Does anyone else find it funny that statistically we have a better kicker than Clemson and our punting is basically equally terrible?

Speaks to the fact that punting/kicking is way harder to nail in recruiting than we would like to believe.
