I watched most of the Hewitt - Thompson game (1st one during the season) and was very impressed with Tyson's ability to drop the ball into the hands of the WR's. If he has any wheels at all, I really see him as the next starter. But, from the articles about Beck, seems everyone should grab all of the Playing Time they can before he gets on campus... But, I could be mistaken

If Bama misses on Bogle, does Devonta Lee get a spot in this class?

I knew I was going to catch hell for that post but I was asking a question! Our top 3 pass rushing targets were thibs, Smith, and Bogle right? I'm not sure if I had missed anyone
Love you brother, but if you know you are going to catch hell then you probably shouldn't post it. I became much happier when I stopped saying shite to my wife that I knew would upset her. I say enough shite that unintentionally upsets her to add in the stuff that I know will. I think we are in the same boat here.
You follow recruiting very closely, did you honestly think there was another top three pass rusher still on the board?
Maybe this analogy will help. Imagine we beat Clemson in an epic National Championship Game Monday and I go into the game thread posting questions about our loss to Auburn in 2010. It's just not fun.

I doubt it.

One of the more seasoned LSU posters, thunderbird1100, posted on the SECRb that Ishmael Sopsher says he doesn't want to play DT in college.
He wants to be a DE at 345 pounds.
I've over this kid.

All-American Bowl: Five teams that should be pleased
quote:
SAN ANTONIO - A few days of practices have wrapped up at the All-American Bowl and some signees and commits have done really well so far. Here is a look at five schools that should be most pleased:

ALABAMA
One of the best players at the event has been five-star defensive tackle Antonio Alfano, who has been dominant in practices and can basically do whatever he wants to any offensive lineman. He has tremendous power, he pushes lineman back into the pocket and Alfano has also shown off impressive speed off the snap. He’s been outstanding.
Five-star running back Trey Sanders just looks different than the other players at his position. He’s jacked up, he’s so smooth and even in practice settings he stands out. Verbal commit Byron Young, a four-star defensive end, has had his moments as well. He’s big, long and could be another huge defensive asset for the Crimson Tide if he sticks.

Alabama remains in play for nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle
quote:
Darnell Wright wasn’t giving any new hints about his eventual college destination.
The nation’s No. 1-ranked offensive tackle and one of the nation’s top uncommitted players said during interviews at the Under Armour All-Star Game in Orlando, Florida, that he plans to make his college decision on Feb. 6, the traditional National Signing Day and declined to say if he’s eliminated any of the 10 schools he identified as finalists last summer.
As what will ultimately influence his final decision, Wright said he's looking for a coaching staff that provides mentoring.
"The coaches, I know they have a job -- that's how they feed their family -- but they can also be a coach and a mentor. Just looking for guys like that," Wright said.
A reporter asked the obvious follow-up: Which coaches seem the best at mentoring so far? He identified just one, Alabama offensive line coach Brent Key.
"I think Coach Key," said Wright, a 5-star prospect from Huntington, West Virginia. "He's a pretty down-to-earth guy. He talks about a lot of stuff, not just recruiting, or Alabama or anything."
Tennessee and Alabama appear to be two of Wright's top contenders. He also said North Carolina has made a recent push after the hiring of Mack Brown as head coach. Other schools on his top 10 include Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Southern Cal, Miami, Penn State and Florida State.
Wright is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive lineman, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. If he signed with Alabama, he's be the second highest-ranked player in the Tide's No. 1-ranked Class of 2019 behind running back Trey Sanders.
Wright said he'll likely schedule official visits to West Virginia and North Carolina in January, but his other three allowed official visits under NCAA rules have not been scheduled.
Alabama signed 23 players during college football’s early signing period, including five offensive linemen -- Hewitt-Trussville’s Pierce Quick, Thompson’s Amari Kight, IMG Academy (Fla.)'s Evan Neal, Glasgow (Ken.)'s Tanner Bowles and center Darrian Dalcourt, from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.
Wright is projected to play left tackle, and Alabama could lose left tackle Jonah Williams to the NFL as an early entry. Kight and Neal -- both expected to be early enrollees -- are also candidates to play left tackle in college.
"I won't be coming in, in the spring, so whoever has that position will have a jump on me," Wright said. "I'm not really scared to compete. I know my abilities."
Wright hasn’t given away much information about his recruitment and showed a chill demeanor during interviews at The Opening 2018 in Frisco, Texas last summer and again at the Under Armour check-in in Orlando.
“I don’t really take things serious a lot,” he said. “I take things serious when it’s a serious matter, but some things to most people just doesn’t matter to me. I guess I’m just a different person.”

Are we still pushing for Wright after landing Neal? I mean, I know we aren't going to turn away a player of his caliber.

No room, we are already taking 5 OL and we need DL/LB more.

We'd make room for Wright if he wanted to come.

Over some of the DL targets? Who isn't signed out of the OL class that can be ejected?

We may not land Bogle on Saturday. That would free up a spot. It appears Sopsher is a head case. I'd rather sign Wright than him at this point.

No one. We'd just sign 6.

Fair, I was under the impression that Wright was a luxury vs some of the pass rushing/DL targets left.

You aren't wrong.
However, we may not land any of our targets on the DL.
Pickering is committed to Mississippi State.
Quashon Fuller is committed to Florida State.
Ishmael Sopsher is playing games.
Jaquaze Sorrells is anyone's guess at this point.
Bogle may sign with Miami.
ETA: We just need to hold on to Byron Young.

I'm not saying we strike out, but Darnell Wright would be a hell of a consolation prize.

Plus that nonsense re: dictating about signing his brother makes me not give a damn if we sign this kid or not.

I know saying "I don't care if we sign that kid" is almost always sour grapes in recruiting, but I truly do not care if we sign that kid.
If we do, great, my expectations will be pretty damn low. If we don't, great.
