You think this is the first time that’s happened? It happens more times than others given the cycle but hell, Keenan Allen, Isaiah Crowell, Leonard Fournette, the Mississippi kids we never could pull that always flipped, Cam Akers, Matt Elam (lol), the list goes on. I want us to sign all the guys Saban wants but that’s not realistic because they’re 17, but the same guys we missed on above. Guess what? They don’t have a national championship. Not 1. And we have 5. I’ll take the championships on the field over the recruiting ones. And lol we are still going to sign the 1st or 2nd best class regardless of opinion

Hate to say it and I'll get blasted for it it...but is this the 1st sign Saban may be starting to slip just a little? He's been so dominant on the recruiting front for so long, and this makes 2 years in a row his former assistants are whipping his arse on some of the biggest names in the land.
I think he needs to revamp his recruiting strategy. The whole "I'm not gonna give you anything, come here and work for it" doesn't seem to be working as well as it once did. He may need to get down in the mud and sling some dirt with some of these young turds like Kirby and Pruitt. Either that, or he may get passed up. He adopted his offense a few years ago, hopefully he can adapt his recruiting style. This is pretty discouraging to see a replay of last February today.
