And I'm not disappointed with this class. Defensive tackle is the only place with a swing and miss.

Well it's not about a class ranking as it is missy my on some key positions mainly DL. Loaded up in secondary and DE but there's no true 0 or 3 tech if Barmore doesn't make it in.

ut we missed out on a lot of guys that we really wanted.
We do every year hence why we offer so many. Since Saban has been here I would wager we miss on far more 5 stars then we ever land.

The good old days
It won't be pretty, but I have faith. Saban's first year was pretty rough. Depends on the resume of the hire. If it is Dabo losing to an unranked Miss St in his first year? I can live.

Yea - that's a kick in the nuts.
I'll add that losing Waddle would really turn me salty. He's a stud and I really want to see us with a kid like that in the slot.

Apparently Langham may still be in play.

I can tell a lot of the people posting here weren’t around for the Shula years..

The fanbase as a whole will be completely and totally irrational, though.

Is Barmore a potential casualty due to grades? The REC is gonna need to put in work, otherwise we'll have to move 1-2 guys from other positions to DT/DL.

I'm excited to see what our new coaches can do on the recruiting trail. They are young and have a lot to prove

We need 4-6 DL (4 being the worst case scenario, likely need 5-6), 4-5 LB's, 2 RB's, and 1 QB.
Am I correct in saying that the 2018 class also only has 2 offensive linemen (1 center and 1 guard)? If so, then I would think 2019 needs to be a decent size OL class as well. I know the position is stacked right now but two light OL classes in a row seems like a recipe for disaster given how hard it is to predict HS to college Oline progression and the needs for some seasoning at the college level.

I thought we would handle it better but if this thread is any indication, I was very optimistic and wrong.
I mean, only half of the board is melting. We aren't completely void of reason.

Yea, I'm really excited about all of them as a group. Should be fun to watch.

I was here for all of them. Lol. Yea we spoiled now. Waddle is a playmaker for sure. Would help our return game tremendously

Except we get more every other year Saban has been here. Hence having the top class every year. Our LB and DT class this year should worry every poster on this board. I think DB/DE were big positions of need and we got the numbers to meet those. Each got a 5 star, but we usually do a little better with quality there. Still can't be mad. Losing the number one player in the state is unfortunate, but I think WR is likely the position of lowest need this year.

All today means with the DL misses is that we will be signing JUCO kids in the next class to go with our other top targets.
You look at what guys like Buggs and Jesse Williams have been able to do from day one and you should feel a bit better.
No different than having to bring Savion Smith in as a plug and play guy at DB this year because no one else has stepped up from the last two classes at that position yet.

I'll be honest, I'm not even sure if I can claim the Dubose-Shula years. I turned 21 in January before Dubose took over, thankfully. I stayed hammered on Saturdays from that point on

We damn sure missed this today... I could stomach losing on Brown.. then I got really excited about PS.. ever since him is has been miss after miss. Now I can officially say it was fricking Fluid...lol And insider with CB picks don’t know shite. Big egg on all of their faces including Watts.
Still a decent class. Early signing period help us actually. Today we were hat on the table U
