So as of today he doesn't expect Wade to flip? He says he expects him to flip but doesn't do it in his numbers.

I'm confused

It's the same every year. Even though our class is always extremely highly ranked, he always takes a few camp kids (guys that dominate at camp that maybe aren't as highly ranked) every year. For the most part, that has worked out very well for us. We've had a lot of "hits" in that department. The thing is.. those guys frequently get bumped to 4 stars after it happens, so people don't really recall that they were 3* before he offered. I'm sure the same thing happens with Meyer to some extent.

Saban just got Ed Marynowicz back from the NFL, who he considers one of the best talent evaluators in football. Had a big impact on the offers we made in our 2008 and 2009 classes that really propelled our program forward.

The TE out of TX was a national top 200 guy and the #4 ranked TE until he decommitted from Baylor. Then, according to Arkansas folks, he mysteriously dropped to # 600 something on 247, and nobody seems to know why. A&M wanted him as a DE, so you know he can run.

McDonald had 11 non-offensive TDs last year. That's all you need to know on him. Has a lot of Arenas and Tyrann Mathieu in him.

Well it was an Ohio State insider who made this CB prediction. You can't have Bama getting him, so may as well take a flyer on a 2nd choice and it can't hurt you right?

LB Jacob Phillips:
quote:

Recently, the 6-foot-4, 228-pounder released a Top 5 of Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Oregon – all of which will receive official visits (Alabama on Sept. 24).

Despite five finalists in no specific order from Phillips, sources inform BamaOnLine that the Top247 ‘backer is a “heavy Bama lean” at the present moment. One source went on to say that it would be a “major surprise” if it were not Alabama and that if today were National Signing Day, it would “for sure” be the Tide.

Someone on TI just posted that Raekwon is completely eligible now. If this is true, that would be great news!

Somebody made a CB prediction for Najee Harris to Michigan.

The CB is a contest.......with Harris committed to Bama, NO ONE can submit one for Bama anymore and if you didn't submit one before he committed the ONLY way to get points is to project a flip to another school. As you are not negatively impacted for an incorrect pick, it makes sense to take a "shot in the dark".

Plus, it gives your readers "reasons" to read the next Najee Harris story to post

If anyone wants to make a fall practice thread in a couple more days, and keep it updated, I'll be happy to throw a sticky on it.

Almost there boys.

Pruitt is superb at DB evaluations. He's found diamonds on more than one occasion. I'll trust him on McDonald.

Still upset they wouldn't give him Nate Andrews while at Bama.

*cough* Jalen Ramsey *cough* Vonn Bell *cough* *cough*...

Revisionist history says that one of those spots went to Eddie Jackson and the other was held for Tony Conner. Truth is one spot went to Parker McLeod and never trust 'crootin in da 'sip (Ask Bo Davis).

ETA: Dang, I went back and looked... that was the infamous Henry/Tenpenny/Jones/Kamara class. Hindsight is a bish for real...

Also had Brandon Hill and Grant Hill in it. That class was hit or miss. Lot of elite players and a lot of busts.

Bama will part ways with a couple of guys as we get close to NSD. Happens every year. I'm confident this will be a top 3 class maybe higher. We just need a safety and a few DL and we will be golden.

If we focused on more DL than LBs I think we will be perfect in the next few years lol

Phillips is really good at breaking down the play and cutting through all the traffic.

Could tie into Kiffin's tweet, as he is Phillips' lead receuiter...
