Seems to me like somebody was making adjustments at halftime. If that was golding dont you think we would've seen those adjustments prior to halftime? Why was it that we had to wait until halftime to get them ironed out and actually start playing good defense? I think saban said after the Michigan game that he made the decision to stay in nickel instead of dime, which led to us getting our best matchups and players on the field. Saban made that decision not golding.

So I'm guessing that when Smart and Pruitt were DCs at Bama, then whenever adjustments were made at halftime, Saban did those as well? Because don't you think we would've seen those adjustments prior to halftime under their respective reigns as DC as well? Or are you saying we never had to make halftime adjustments while they were DC?

Halftime adjustments are a part of the game. Coaches very often have to adjust to what the opponent's game-plan is. Do you think that coaches just know exactly what the other team is going to do in the first half? There wouldn't be much need for a plan if that were the case, now would there? Good coaches make good halftime adjustments. Day one stuff here.

edit: looks like you were already schooled on this above.

They revealed much more about themselves than they did about you.

Hey man, speaking for myself, I meant no personal offense. I speak pretty strongly at times, and have a bit of a reputation for it. I would, however, like to encourage you to post more and post what you want. You have my apologies if you were personally offended. It wasn't my intent. I desired to come down hard on your opinion, but not you personally. I try to keep the opinion separate from the person, when possible.

It's the internet, nothing is personal and the sooner you figure it out, the better off you are.

This is the last thing I'll post about this subject. When did we have to wait to halftime to make adjustments when kirby or Pruitt was coaching our defenses? Yea we might have gotten caught off guard on the first couple drives of a game but our defense adjusted and we started playing good football. I just dont remember our defenses making mediocre quarterbacks look awesome time after time but hey if you can prove me wrong

Constantly. As a matter of fact, we won multiple championships in large part because we were such a good halftime adjustment team - better than most anyone we played. The quality of our halftime adjustments under Saban has been legendary.

Do we know of a team that was walking the ball down the field on us in the first half this season, besides Michigan, that wasn't still walking the ball down the field in the 4th quarter?

We'll, we completely shut down LSU for the entire 2nd half until their last 2 drives.
