True - the democrats of the 60's knew what a woman was.

The Democrats today are exactly the same. There's virtually no difference. They have the exact same goals and are using the exact same tactics. The last actual KKK member in elected office was Robert Byrd. Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden both considered him a mentor, and they speak highly of him. He died in 2010, which also happens to be the first year the state of Alabama started to be run by Republicans.

Kind of glancing over David Duke, who actually served in some form of politics (Louisiana) before he went off on the current Neo Nazi spin and somehow creeps his way back into politics every once in a while like the 2016 election.

Byrd was also eulogized by the NAACP , not the best example when the guy renounced it mid 50’s and then became one of the more consistent voters with NAACP favored bills in the 80’s onward. He was a big backer of Obama’s campaign.

Byrd basically did the opposite of Strom Thurmond and didn’t double down on racism

mean, when you carve up Memphis into three districts to eliminate the black vote you shouldn't be shocked at that group being angry with you.
they still get to vote. Now candidates have to take them into account in all 3 seats rather than just assuming they will all vote the same, for the black candidate
