Omg. shut. the. hell. up. I’ve seen several people post how they wish Tua would leave so Young can be the guy. I’m so sick of hearing this. Why do people think Young would come in and start? The kid has not seen our playbook, hasn’t seen a college defense, hasn’t stepped foot on campus, but he’s gonna come in and “truck defenders”? If Tua can’t play Mac is the guy. Even if Young is the real deal Mac would still be the guy. He knows the offense, has actual game experience, and can handle the position. The only reason Tua got the start after halftime as a freshman is because Hurts COULD NOT move the ball. It wasn’t like Tua got the position because he “won” it, and we all saw how good he was. Hurts couldn’t get it done any longer so he was essentially pulled. Unless Mac all of a sudden can’t throw for 300+ yards against top 10 defenses, he’s the guy. Young is not, will not, and would not start next year. He may end up being one of the greats, but it won’t be next year. Can we please use some common sense and move on from this dumbass idea?

Well, it’s looking like Tua is coming back for 2020 which means Mac will more than likely Grad Transfer and Bryce Young can take over in 2021....best case scenario IYAM.

Dude the only reason why ANYONE would want to see Tua leave is for him to get paid... Kid literally saved Bama's arse against Georgia. Helped us win a NC, led the most explosive offense Bama has ever had, set several records, but has suffered some devastating injuries... I want him to do what's best for himself and his family. If he comes back NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE, would be upset.. Heck the euphoria that most of us would feel would be the same as when Julio Jones announced his commitment to Bama...

Yeah, I mean as we’ve seen, it’s not like elite true freshmen QBs can be successful

Really? So I guess all these posts aren’t real? And these are just a few I pulled up. If you’d like I could really go and search back and pull a lot more.

quote:

I was pretty excited to see what Bryce Young could do tbh. Maybe he could actually run around and truck some defenders

quote:

It all depends on how good Bryce Young is. If he’s truly elite, I want Tua to go ahead and go pro

quote:

At this point I don’t see how anyone thinks Tua can go a whole season without injury, plus I’d like a QB who welcomes contact

quote:

I think it's time for Tua to move on. Psychologically, the team could use a clean slate

quote:

Idk how everyone feels I might get a downvote for this but I’m kinda ready to move on from tua. I’m not trying to ruffle people up because I think we all love tua but it might be best for both parties to move on

Go frick yourself

So, no, go frick yourself. You are right tho. This board is full of dumbasses. The people down voting my post about Young proves that.

Definitely. I’m still lost as to why I was downvoted into oblivion but I stand by my OP. Maybe I’m in the minority by thinking Young wouldn’t start. Who knows..

People are excited because highly rated QB recruits do that to people. I think Mac has shown a lot but Young is clearly a very talented guy and he will be here this month to start learning. It wasn’t too long ago that a true freshman started basically the whole season at the QB spot here, so it’s not like it’s out of the realm of possibility.

While this part is true, have to admit that the Mac Jones situation is something else entirely from the Barnett/Bateman/Hurts competition, because none of those guys had put up in live games like Jones has.

Exactly. That’s what I was trying to say with the Hurts comment. Everyone knew (with the exception of a few posters) Tua should get the start but didn’t. Mac is moving the ball better than Jalen was. With what we know about Saban I can’t see Young coming in a starting.

It is different. Now. But when most people who were assuming Young could come in and start six weeks ago, Mac hadn’t shown anything and people thought Tua would go pro. I think many people have revised their outlook on Young for next season based on what has happened the last few weeks.

If Tua returns, I think Mac will transfer and go start somewhere for two years. Maybe Ole Miss. He put together a pretty good audition tape for himself.

Only ONE of those five quotes was about wanting Tua to leave just so Bryce Young could start.

You're just being a dumbass.

Everyone of those quotes comes from a thread discussing Young. I’m sorry that you claimed no one was saying that and then I proved they were.

The kind of dumb arse that says something didn’t happen when they don’t know wtf they’re talking about?

Is this where we claim our allegiance to Team Tua, Team MAC, or Team Young?

Team Tua all day..

But seriously, this thread wasn’t a “pick one or the other” type thread. I saw increasingly numbers of posts by people wishing Tua would leave so Young could start next year. Not wanting to derail other threads I figured I’d start my own thread to discuss it. If people want to call me a dumbass for saying those people are crazy then that’s fine too.
