Calling DeBoer's offensive guru credentials into question

The last two seasons we have started the year with an offense that looks like it has great potential but by the end of the season the offense looks like a jalopy straining to stay on the road. The quarterback goes from a borderline Heisman candidate to almost unplayably bad.
I do not buy the "his players" argument because the man won everywhere else with someone else's players. I think we're seeing that his offensive acumen isn't quite as elite when playing quality competition most weekends.
I have said it already but my gut tells me that the first round game is going to be a facsimile of last year's Citrus Bowl. People will be talking about the game being a get-right game but instead they're going to get dismantled.

He does have a point. Kirby helped Glen on defense and now look at them. Their expertise is on that side of the ball.
Our supposed expertise is on the offense, and we have gotten worse every week after the tenner game.

But Diego he always had “his” quarterback, who is the single most important and significant player on the field in this offense.
I hear and respect what you’re saying but I want to see him with “his” quarterback.

And I hope it is Keelon… now that we have made the CFP this year , I am all for giving the reigns to Keelon even if it costs us a game or two .. let him play

I believe his Fresno State QB was inherited

He has his qb, he recruited him at Washington and brought him with him. He just wont play him. Idk if you guys have seen the 2 qbs, Mack and Keelon, but they are both all Bama.

Sunshine and rainbows only sir. All is well

You’re right, ironically he was a transfer from Washington.

He's playing better defenses and better defensive coordinators. He's going to have to get better as a coach because hes now in a conference that has coaches just as good or better.

I sure hope he signs him and he joins the team, soon, then.

I think they’re sitting on the bench for some strange reason …

This biggest failure imo is the offensive line. It has been terrible before Saban retired as well. Couple that with two very average quarterbacks and here we are. If deboer could have kept Julian sayin we might be calling him the next Saban who knows. However it all starts with offensive line and it's been trash for years

100% correct. Do we not have enough NIL for elite linemen/have we prioritized other positions or is it a coaching/talent evaluation problem?

I think Deboer has the potential to be a great coach. I think, as of right now, he's a great coach for a Pac12 team or maybe the ACC. He wasn't ready for the SEC and it shows.
Can he adapt to the SEC and grow into a great coach? Time will tell. I think he can or at least I hope so. We have at least another year to find out. But, he's going to have to make some major changes to get it done. If he does, then look out.

This x 1000. Fix the OL issues, and I think we see a different result from what we've seen the last half of this season.

Grubb has big issues and Deboer backs him. Thats all I need to know.

He brought "his QB" from UW... his name is Austin Mack. CKD will not play the MF.
Keep making excuses for Kayla though
