Big Balls' Hot Take

A little bit of a gay title, but whatever.
This my take on what I've observed and what concerns me. It is not a game prediction.
I've watched Tua's interview from Monday and he is saying his knee is 100% and he's been trying to give his brace away. I also watched him try to trade out the brace in the Missouri game only to aggravate it on a slide. This all appears to me to be a little bit of bravado on his part. He didn't look confident in his throws that game and appeared to still be a little "off" (still great but off) in the Tennessee game. He's a tough kid and has a tough mindset. Sometimes that can translate into being a little unsure of yourself deep down, maybe even subconsciously. Add to that, if he really does have some pain or that knee is still a little tender, one big hit could take him out.
That said, Tua from 4 or five games ago, would win this game with little effort. The current Tua is a little more of a question mark, in MY opinion. Couple that with Jalen being day-to-day and the Tide could be in for a long night. Hopefully I'm completely wrong and Tua's knee is a non-issue. If that's the case we roll to at least a two touch down win and playing out the rest of the season is only a formality to get to the SEC Championship game.

That's a scorching hot take.

I wouldn’t worry about Tua’s knee. Sure, he could injure it if he got twisted up in a tackle or something, but that same could be said for any QB. We might not be sending him out on QB draws simply because of Jalen’s injury but I don’t think Tua will be playing at 75% or anything like that. He’s fine and I don’t think the knee is an issue at all.
We all talk about Tua’s health but keep in mind that Burrow has taken every snap this year and is playing behind an OL that is giving up a fair amount of sacks that is squaring off against the best pass rush in the SEC. So it’s like not the LSU QB situation couldn’t suddenly change on one play.

yea, I think Tua is doing all the drills now, and he wasnt 2 weeks ago. lsu has a big problem at left offensive tackle. If they have to start throwing the ball, they are in big trouble.
Lsu will need to be able to run the ball and control the clock to beat us. They run the ball more than anyone in the conference, so we have to stop that.

His knee is better now than it was in the Missouri game.
He looked better against UT and now he's even healthier and I'm sure he'll be better this week.
The idea that we could be in serious trouble if Tua gets hurt is not wrong; we certainly could be. But I don't think there's really much to be concerned with regarding his knee now.

Dude he was sprinting down the field and jumping and all kinds of shite after TD throws against Tennessee.
He's fine.
He's fine.

the biggest question mark for me, is not tua. it's the gameplan. will bama continue running wild or will they go conservative cutting the offense down to 5 yards and a bowl of gumbo? i do believe bama has the firepower to punch lsu in the mouth, repeatedly. but will they actually do it? i think this decision will dictate whether it's a close game or a blowout.

I honestly believe they're going to come after his knee
They're that desperate
I hope like hell I'm wrong, but I can almost guarantee some extra twisting and low hits

Wouldn’t surprise me either if they’re aggressive about that. Not straight up dirty hits but as you said, extra stuff that we kind of saw with Missouri and other teams in the past. I don’t think it will be limited to Tua either.

Hoping Nick has given the word to big boys up front to kick arse and take names if they even breath on him too hard.

I heard Coach Saban say after the Tenn. game that Tua missed on some of his passas because Tennesse has a dome shaped field that caused him to overthrow a few passes.Could be BS,could be a sore knee, who knows? I just hope he KILLS IT Saturday night .ROLL TIDE ROLL !!!

Tua said the same thing in an interview after the game.
