I think that an underrated defensive performance is 2018 in Death Valley, blanking them. 2018 LSU offense wasn't great, but they were good with plenty of NFL talent, and they couldn't even get on the scoreboard, at home.

Alabama dominated Clemson in the 2017 Sugar Bowl. It's amazing how quickly the media forgets to mention it when the current rivalry is discussed. It's almost like it's been forgetten. There were several highlight plays in that game from Mack Wilson's interception return for TD to DaRon Payne's TD reception. Our defense whipped their offensive line all night.

For me, hands down, it’s the ‘93 Sugar Bowl vs Miami. Completely shut down the #3 passing offense in the nation (#9 scoring offense, #12 overall) and its Heisman Trophy winner, forcing 4 turnovers and holding them without a touchdown...and that was in addition to emasculating loudmouth WR Lamar Thomas...best defensive game plan I’ve ever seen...

I think in today's football climate if you hold a team to a touchdown a quarter, you have played good defense. With the Spread and the way the rules are designed, the days of holding teams to a minimum are few and far in between. I was shocked we dominated a Mike Leach team. But I can adapt to watch our team score 50pts a game now.

Thread title should probably be "best defensive performance AFTER the '11 Natty."

You can't improve upon a title game shuteaux where you only allow them to cross the fitty one time, and then immediately pushed them back across midfield next play. That is DOMINATION.

As far as another game that hasn't been mentioned I'd go with Rocky Block. Held 10rc to 10 points, and blocked two kicks to keep the national title and perfect season intact. The will and desire of Ro, Javy, Cody, Julio etc was the stuff of legends in that game. Still get goosebumps watching those highlights.

Speaking of which I've been wanting to change my avatar to that play; anyone know where to find the right size Pic of that play that will work for this site ? That or a good pic of the two uga rbs crying after losing the natty to daddy Bama would be glorious for my annual uga trolling later this summer.
