I say play aggressive and blitz a lot. If they hit a big play so be it. The way I see it, on any given drive we are far more likely to get a stop on defense than they are. Lets play the averages and get as many drives in this game as possible. With their defense, they have to hit on 16 because they know we probably have a 20 when the dealer flips the card

i think the second time we played JFF we did more of a mush rush with a spy. I would rather our fastest DB be the spy and I can see us playing in Dime most of the game.

Army had the ball 22 min 20 seconds in the second half. OU had the ball three times in the second half with zero points.

Make sure Bama has someone covering the RB coming out of the backfield.

We probably will play in rabbit package and I think we will see some blitzes, mix in coverages. We want to do confuse him and we want to make sure he doesnt have time to read the field. We want to make his life miserable.

I don’t like the idea of a spy. Murray will outrun 32 every time. I don’t really like shortening the game with ball possession either...all it takes is a holding call and a turnover to lose some of our possessions and then we’re the ones playing catch up.

Our best defense is to stop the run with the front 4, hit their receivers when the ball arrives, and limit big plays.

I bet we see the return of the mush rush from previous years. Our outside edge rushers aren't game changers, anyway. I bet Nick wants KM to beat us with his arm and not his legs.

Not necessary. We can drop folks back... and leave one to spy Murrary. We want to make it hard as possible for Murrary... moses and Wilson have to play better.

I think you have to keep Murray in the pocket. He’s 5’6” for crying out loud...make him throw with both offense and defensive lineman in his view! Not only will it make the passes harder to complete, his vision will be very limited being so short. We can’t let them run on us....that’s how they got half their total yardage against Georgia last year. A lot of folks overlook that RB that had 26 carries for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns in that game!

Army didn’t shut them down at all. Really no one has all year. From what I’ve seen, keeping Kyler in the pocket is a must. Once he gets outside, defenders either lose their focus on the guy they’re covering, or Kyler picks up a ton of yards with his feet.

If you can get pressure on him, he will make a couple bad decisions a game. Rush 3 or 4, spy 1, and need really good coverage. Most important players are Q and whoever is spying Kyler. If Hollywood Brown is out, life becomes a whole lot easier as well.

This will be the key. Force field goals when they get in the red zone

True, but he is easy to lose when the pocket collapse. DL and LB can easily lose him.

I'd really like to see us run the ball down their damn throats and keep KM on the sideline

Our best defense may be a good offense. You gotta figure that they score 30-40 points so all we have to do is score 50+ and we win the game. Their pass defense sucks and our pass offense is elite so I say spread em out and throw the ball.

Well we also had a defense designed that had Buggs trying to cover Swift at one point. That's just a disaster.

I actually like blitzing and trying to get the ball out of Murray's hands quickly. I think you've got a chance to get some batted balls and maybe a turnover. The downside is if you let him get free you've got one less guy that can run him down.

I do think controlling the TOP will be big. The backs should have a field day. I can see Jacobs in the Wildcat breaking a couple of long ones, too.

The best defensive strategy we can use against the OK offense and Murray is to only allow them to play only half the game. Run Damien, run Josh, run Najee and burn half of each quarter with ball control.

The only reason to do this would be if our offense wasn't any good. This strategy allows teams with less explosive offenses compete by severely limiting the total number of possessions.

This is not Alabama.

We will bring an equally explosive offense to the field, and so we should not be afraid in any way, shape, or form to have a bunch of possessions in the game. We should run solely if that gives us a greater chance to matriculate the ball down the field. Based on what I see, we should be able to run and pass on Oklahoma.

The discrepancy between these 2 teams is with the defense, with ours being top 6 statistically, and theirs being outside the top 90. We should stop them a whole hell of a lot more than they stop us, and so I see no reason for us to try to run, run, run in order to shorten this game.

No, we don't want to get into a situation where our defense sees 100 plays. But our defense will be far superior to theirs for each and every minute of the game. We're going to play our normal game: weather their first half offensive storm, and make adjustments at the half and shut them down. And we'll score a boatload of points in the process and send them back to Oklahoma with their tail (and Heisman) between their legs.

Shortening this game is what lesser offensive teams need to do. We can score with anyone, and stop most.
