Curious what people think about this. Does this imply that the receivers want Milroe to get the job? Or did this happen only because Milroe is more determined than Simpson and just arranged for it to happen? I'm not sure how to read it.
I was wondering the same thing, seems like Milroe would be ahead of Simpson if he's working with recievers and Simpson is not. Glad to see them working together to get better regardless.

Just my opinion but im willing to bet those in the picture probably hang out together more and took a trip to tampa and set up some workouts while there.

Who are the receivers in the pic? Without jerseys and numbers, I really don't know one from the other.

From a Rivals article:
quote:
According to Beast 1 Athletics owner, Vincent Sanders, Milroe was joined by several of his Alabama targets, including receivers Malik Benson, Isaiah Bond, Emmanuel Henderson, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice and Shazz Preston as well as tight end Danny Lewis Jr. Over the past week, the group has worked with a collection of high-profile trainers and former NFL players, honing their skills while focusing on necessary offseason steps to prepare for the coming season.
quote:
Along with Milroe and the receivers, other Alabama players who made the trip include offensive linemen J.C. Latham and Terrence Ferguson, as well as defensive linemen Jamil Burroughs and Anquin Barnes.
As Hawaiian Punch mentioned, Brooks was there too.

Sounds like a bunch of friends getting together to work out to me. I would not think anything is unusual about it.

Milroe is winning the team. That’s always a huge deal to Saban. He’s going to be great.

You don’t know if he’s winning the team or not. If he can’t improve as a passer then he will lose the trust of the team very quickly.

Well let's pray he improves as a passer because if he doesn't we are screwed

Yep. I remember how fed up Ridley was with Hurts towards the end of Hurts' sophomore season.

Your boy Bob isn’t there anymore. Whoever wins the QB job the task of winning the game will not be put squarely on the QB shoulders.
At least that’s what some of us expect. Back to whipping your arse at the LOS on both sides of the ball. Biggest concern to me is fixing that Def.

Yeah that is the great news. With that idiot Bill O'Brien gone we can at least expect an offense which attacks each opponents defenses' weaknesses so we shouldn't need the perfect passer to beat mediocre teams like we have the last two seasons.

Gotta get back to producing that Alpha Wolf mentality in practice. When Saturday comes, turn them loose to hunt their prey down.

He’ll lose the team after he goes 3 and out on most of his drives in the opener

Milroe can’t read a defense. He’s a heck of an athlete but turnovers going to be a problem.

Elite 11 Finals: Day 1 Top Performers

2. Julian Sayin – Alabama
Julian Sayin entered the Elite 11 with the reputation as one of the most polished passers in the 2024 cycle. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder lived up to that billing on Wednesday. Sayin was the most consistent passer on a throw-to-throw basis. He showed arguably the quickest release on hand. The ball comes out very quickly. While some others were inconsistent with their mechanics, the Alabama pledge was able to easily replicate his throwing motion over and over. His true arm strength looked to be in the middle of the pack, but the ability to consistently throw tight spirals with a high level accuracy stood out. While the pure physical tools are not overwhelming, Sayin’s ability to hit receivers in stride afforded for a handful of “wow” throws on Wednesday. – Charles Power

He is going to be a stud. Back to the Tua, Mac and Bryce skill levels.

Can I tell you how much I love this forum. I could say Bama will go 15-0 and win it all and someone will downvote it. Sometimes I wonder if I accidentally am posting on a Georgia board or something.

From day two of Elite 11:
quote:
Raiola was accurate to all levels and he looked comfortable in this structured, scripted setting. The footwork and timing were balanced and in rhythm, as well.
With Raiola and Sayin — the No. 2 quarterback in the On3 Industry Ranking — you’re probably splitting hairs between the two, but we had Raiola one point higher in charting. With the total throws limited to 20, the margin for error is slim. An errant throw here or there can decide the order and that’s what happened here. However, it was a very strong day for Raiola in his session. Aside of missing his last throw, it probably would have been a near flawless session in this highly structured, on-air setting.
2. Julian Sayin – Alabama
Julian Sayin stacked another strong day at the Elite 11 Finals. The Carlsbad (Calif.) High product made things look easy during his pro day script. Sayin showed excellent rhythm and timing over the course of his 20 throws. The technical polish and confidence in his skills was evident. The assertiveness and speed in his drops and release stood out. While others took their time, he looked to be playing close to game speed. Sayin has very strong footwork, effectively tying his upper body and feet. Early on, attempted a jump pass on a vertical route that is one of the hardest throws in the script. Had he thrown that pass with his feet grounded and completed it, he could’ve pushed Raiola for the On3 MVP. Sayin caught fire in the back half of his session, hitting close to 10 passes in a row
