there is a reason for that - the school is named for a former Governor of Tennessee named Austin Peay.

At a cross country meet ... At Georgia I think... Just before the start of the girls race. I'm running by the team from Austin Peay .. And the girls team is huddled up and started a " ahhh ...let's go Pee on 3" cheer. I stopped and laughed

They actually recruited me for football back in 06-07. Don’t remember much about their program. They oddly enough came to a spring practice and pulled a buddy of mine and myself aside, measured us timed our 40 and came back two more times. I don’t recall an offer, not sure if I seemed uninterested, or if it was because I was a slow white kid who liked to thump and had a history of concussions.

From the Tuscaloosa News (from the post game press conference)
quote:

Alabama football has several injury questions marks heading into the Iron Bowl.

Several starters such as Jahmyr Gibbs, Eli Ricks and Cam Latu did not suit up for the game that Alabama won 34-0 over Austin Peay on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Plus, starting left tackle Tyler Steen left the game right before halftime and did not return for the No. 8 Crimson Tide (9-2).

"He's got a twisted ankle," Nick Saban said postgame. "He'll be day to day."

Gibbs, who twisted his ankle against Ole Miss, should start practicing Monday. Latu also has a twisted ankle, per Saban, and should start practicing next week too.

Ricks has cleared concussion protocol, Saban added. The cornerback sustained a head injury on the first drive of the game against Ole Miss a week ago and was in street clothes during the game against Austin Peay (7-4).

"I think he will be able to start practicing Monday," Saban said.

In Gibbs' absence, Jase McClellan was stellar for the Crimson Tide. He ran for 156 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. That's an average of 9.2 yards per carry, almost a first down each time he touched the football.

Terrion Arnold filled in for Ricks again, while Robbie Ouzts was at the top of the list for the tight ends taking over in Latu's absence.

Amari Kight filled in for Steen at left tackle.

So the mouth prices are why our defense coordinator kept allowing tenn's OC to easily scheme their fastest most dynamic WR on our safeties?

Is that it?

Did those mouthpieces make our players run three straight pass plays instead of any runs to at least run clock and center the ball for our kicker?

Bo talking old school; I get that. However when they use to tell us we were looking pretty spatting up our cleats and wearing different kinds of arm sweat bands with our jerseys cut or tucked a certain way.... it was the same thing.

In the end it's about Jimmy's and Joe's and X's and O's. We got the first part but lack severely in the second.

I don't expect those guys, or several others, to play in a bowl game. Hopefully the bowl game will be a chance to get some experience for younger guys and hopefully we end this disappointing season on a positive note with something to build on for next year.

Questions are going to be asked about Bryce's shoulder/arm during the draft process so he should focus on getting that healed up.

I think he is just using that to try to point to issues with the culture and focus of this team. Culture and focus are definitely issues in addition to coaching.
