Agreed. Guess I'll be tuning in to Cincy-Arky to see what could have been

Lolz definitely not set on edge then .

That does become a head scratcher as to why he transferred.

Transfer #2 means you sit for a year, so it's entirely possible that he wasn't successful as a passrusher at Arkansas and was presented with the options of embracing ILB and playing or transferring again and sitting out.

Huh? I don't see anywhere where he transferred again. He is listed on the Arkansas depth chart

He is saying IF Sanders had to transfer again from Arkansas because he didn't win a starting Edge job he would have to sit out so he might have had to decide on whether to transfer again or embrace moving inside to play this year.

So Sanders left because he thought he would get a starting spot easier elsewhere or what?

I think that he thought that he'd be able to play outside linebacker at Arkansas, and he was wrong.

Replacing Moody with Sanders.

That would make our lineup on paper look even more sick.

The other thing about Arkansas is their 3-3-5 is weird as hell so who the hell knows what Sanders was promised and what he actually will be doing.

Arkansas folks have been saying since before spring that Sanders would be an ILB for them. I don’t know why he left but I don’t think he was dead set on being an edge rusher.

No wonder Barry Odom was able to improve their defense so quickly.

He was an MLB in high school, as I recall, and I think his dad was a coach. I was really looking forward to him manning the middle for a couple of years, and I hated to see him leave. He was doing pretty well as an OLB (especially considering he was pressed into action) before he got hurt.

I wonder of it had anything to do with essentially losing his starting spot because of injury. Maybe Sanders didn't like the way it was handled?

It's shortsighted to leave, but maybe he just couldn't get past that and left...

Coach Saban's Wednesday Press Conference

The video is unavilable for me, but I saw this tweet from Potter:

quote:

Saban said there was nothing new to report on the injuries to true freshmen Aaron Anderson, Isaiah Hastings, Earl Little and Elijah Pritchett.

"I'm not gonna give an injury report in here every week, OK? When those guys are ready to play, we'll let you know."

Feisty!

ETA: Rodak added more in a tweet:

quote:

"Some of them are practicing in black shirt jerseys. There's no real timetable for knowing when they're going to return."
