At what point do we start to get excites for this season? Seems like a very strange offseason.

I’m pumped for this season but this offseason has been the most boring, dead offseason ever. Literally no news leaking out about how workouts are going, which new guys look legit, who’s making big strides. Nada. That’s fine I suppose, just super boring. I do think this team has a chance to be special. Really all hinges on the development of this OL. They will be the difference between a title team and just another good squad. The thing that concerns me a little, is I don’t see that stud future 1st rounder on the OL that we can build around. Just some solid ish dudes. We will see what this new OL coach is made of.

Best case scenario is that Steen is dependable, Latham emerges as the freak, and Ekiyor has a great-value version of Warmack's senior season (their career trajectory is similar). If we can just get steady play out McClaughlin and Cohen, which should be reasonable, then the OLine play will be very strong.

Only thing I can see besides Latham the last couple years is we signed multiple guys like George and Ferguson who needed to lose weight and others like JB who needed to add mass. They weren’t ready physically and it cost us a year or so of having that “plug and play “ lineman we are used to

Anyone know when Fall camp starts?

I'm gonna guess Friday, August 5th.

Listened to Cam Robinson on UAC podcast. He said so much success is to do with how well the linemen work together, not just individual talent.

Cam also isn’t worried about the OL this year.

This is the first one with Cam. #2 is with DJ Hall

Court dismisses marijuana charge against Alabama DB Eli Ricks

quote:

The marijuana charge against Alabama cornerback Eli Ricks has been dismissed.

Ricks was arrested Sunday, May 1, by Mississippi Highway Patrol and charged with speeding, having no insurance and possession of marijuana. A hearing in his case was set for Thursday morning in Jones County Justice Court, and a clerk confirmed that Ricks’ possession of marjuana charge was dismissed. Through his attorney, Ricks pled guilty to the speeding ticket.

BamaCentral 22 for '22: Which Returning Senior Will Improve Their Draft Stock the Most? (SI)

Alabama has more first round picks than any other school since Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa, and several seniors have the chance to join that group.

Not sure where to put this but it's the off-season. Been on a binge lately on YouTube rewatching Bama games. Watched the '15 LSU beat down tonight. During the telecast, CBS showed two older ladies in the crowd who appeared to be twins decked out in crimson and hounds tooth. It reminded me of the Bama Twins who attained a bit of popularity a little while ago. Haven't seen them mentioned in a long while (in fact, until seeing these older twins tonight I had forgotten about them.)

Do they still attend games at all? Just curious.

I hadn’t thought of them in years. I recall seeing them at every game when I was a student. If memory serves they actually went to UAB.

BamaCentral 22 for '22: Who will win Alabama’s battle at center? (SI)

Darrian Dalcourt and Seth McLaughlin will battle for the starting spot in the middle of the Crimson Tide's offensive line this fall.

Unless Dalcourt has made significant progress on the field and in the weight room I find McLaughlin a better option at center
