"Could play" and "be effective" are two different things. How close to 100% will Anderson be? That could be the difference between a close game and a somewhat comfortable margin.

You can bet that Florida will go after that knee

The one thing I got from that article was this.

quote:

Alabama's last loss to an SEC East foe came in 2010 when the top-ranked Crimson Tide were upset at South Carolina. Since then, Saban's program has captured multiple national championships and has owned opposition from the other side of the conference.

Get rid of east/west and just make A/B divisions.

I'd rather rest Anderson if it was better for his performance over the rest of the season. I think Bama can win without using him, but if not, losing to Florida wouldn't mean much if they win out otherwise.

LINK ]Updates on Josh Jobe, Jalyn Armour-Davis prior to game at Florida (BOL)

quote:

After missing the home opener against Mercer this past weekend, both of Alabama’s starting cornerbacks, Josh Jobe and Jalyn Armour-Daivs returned to the practice field Monday. Both defensive backs appear set to rejoin the first-team defense Saturday.

“They’ve practiced all the plays, they’re out there playing every day,” Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said after Wednesday’s practice. “They seem like they’re doing OK to me.”. . .

ON ALABAMA'S PRACTICE HABITS THIS WEEK...

"We’ve had a lot better energy, a lot better focus. We really practiced a lot better. So I’m not disappointed in the way we’re preparing for this game."

On SEC call, Jimbo Fisher said Alabama is still really good this season but skill players were "elite, elite" the last few years. In general, Jimbo said "a lot of teams are very capable of beating them but they’ve done a really good job of staying on top."

Football is a game of testosterone and intelligence. This might not fuel a bunch of adult men, but a bunch of young adult men, could turn this into fuel. It doesn’t take much. We’ve all seen or been apart of fights that were less than this

Thanks Jimbo for the motivation to get our borderline elite players to get over the hump to becoming elite.

Jimbo might be an idiot. I know he didn’t say anything that’s not true. But you pair that with his off season comments and you have plenty of fuel for the fire.

Whenever Saban said that team had a good week of practice or are focused usually translate into real good game for Alabama.

saban is generally open about how the team is doing, what they're not doing and such. i remember vince dooley always had the poor me's. when asked at press conferences, he would let on like half the team was sick or injured and might not play, every week! so i for one am glad we have a coach thats pretty forthcoming about the team in saban

Those were different days, all coaches did that. Coach Bryant was a master, he could make Bama sound like Mercer and make Mercer sound like Ohio State. It was Coachspeak, very wary of providing bulletin board material.

One factor likely will be weather. 90% chance of rain during the game.

Gmac and JPW both said rain is no problem for the passing game as long as its not too windy. JPW said you get a little tack on the ball when its wet that is helpful.

I generally try to make one Alabama road SEC game per season. And I swear it rains every damn time. Notable ones are Missouri 2012 and Arkansas 2014. Absolute awful weather.
